Amanda Seyfried, Cheryl Cole and Benedict Cumberbatch have all welcomed babies.

It’s raining babies in Hollywood town this week with two very famous faces announcing the birth of their babies.

Amanda Seyfried and her fiancé Thomas Sadoski have welcomed their first child into the world, a baby girl, their rep confirmed to E! News.

At this stage, the couple have not publicly released the baby’s name.

It’s been a whirlwind month – and year – for the couple, with Newsroom star Sadoski revealing on The Late Late Show With James Corden the couple had eloped on March 12, after announcing their engagement last September.

“It was beautiful,” he said of the wedding “It was everything that it should be. It was just the two of us talking to each other.”

In November, 31-year-old Seyfried announced her pregnancy and told Vogue Australia's February issue she's "never been excited by anything more in [her] life — and ready".

On the other side of the world, One Direction star Liam Payne and partner Cheryl Cole have welcomed a baby boy.

The former British X Factor judge announced the news on Instagram in time for Mother's Day in the UK.

"On Wednesday 22nd March, Liam and I became parents to an incredibly beautiful, healthy baby boy, weighing 7lb 9 and looking like a dream," she wrote alongside a photo of 23-year-old Payne with their baby boy.

"Although he still doesn't have a name he is already stealing hearts. We are all madly in love and overwhelmingly happy with our little arrival. Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers around the world. A day that now has a different meaning to me forever."

Since they began dating in February 2016 the two of have been largely private about their relationship, the 10 year age gap between them and their origins on the same reality show.

In a rare moment of candor, Payne told Rollacoaster magazine recently, they are "super happy", that it's a "very personal, precious time for us" and calling his girlfriend "a wonderful, wonderful person".

It seems Seyfried and Cole (along with Marion Cotillard) aren't the only celebrities who have welcomed babies recently.

According to the Daily Mail, Benedict Cumberbatch and his wife Sophie Hunter welcomed their second son on March 3, a little brother for almost two-year-old Christopher ("Kit").

The UK website claims baby Cumberbatch's name is Hal Auden, a nod to Shakespeare — Hal was the nickname of Henry V before he became the hero of Agincourt.

The couple is yet to make a formal announcement, so hopefully they'll give us an answer either way.
