Amy Schumer has shared a heartfelt apology to her disappointed Aussie fans.

Days after pulling out of her Australian tour, which was set to begin this week, comedian Amy Schumer has written an emotional apology to her fans.

“Australia! I am so sorry I am not well enough to be there right now,” the 35-year-old wrote to her five million Instagram followers on Tuesday afternoon, beside a photo with a koala.

“I am going to get healthy and come as soon as I can.”

The self-titled tour included performances in Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney, as well as a show in Auckland, New Zealand, on December 17.

“I love it there so much,” the Trainwreck star’s post continued.

“The people are the coolest and the meat pies are the hottest. See you ASAP!”

Illness was cited as the reason for Schumer cancelling. While the tour’s event management company, Live Nation, regretfully notified ticket holders the tour would not be rescheduled due to Schumer’s busy schedule, it did assure them that tickets will be refunded within 10 days.

“Unfortunately, due to Amy Schumer’s tight schedule it is not possible to schedule replacement dates however, we will be working to confirm a return to Australia as soon as is practical,” the press release read.

While fans were openly disappointed, many commented on the post to leave the star their best wishes.

“Feel better Amy. So disappointed to be missing your Sydney show next week, but glad to hear you might reschedule,” one read, while another wrote: “Focus on yourself for a change, Amy!”

Schumer rose to international fame following the release of the film Trainwreck in 2015, which she both wrote and played the leading role in.

The press junket for the blockbuster was the last time Schumer visited Australia.
