Celeb news: "I'm a high-functioning alcoholic," says Channing Tatum.

Channing Tatum has confessed that he lives as a ‘high-functioning alcoholic’.

High-functioning indeed: the 34-year-old actor/father/babe has filmed four movies back-to-back in the past year as well as writing the sequel to Magic Mike and raising a baby girl with his childhood sweetheart and wife Jenna Dewan.

Tatum’s constant multi-tasking of mega fame and family privacy has led him to lead a fractured, intoxicated kind of life. And, ironically, he told journalist Chris Heath at GQ all about it over a few drinks at a little pub at the foot of the Hollywood hills.

“I probably drink too much, you know,” he told Heath. “My wife, that’s what she bought into… I’m probably a pretty high-functioning, I guess, you know, I would say, alcoholic, I guess. There’s probably a tendency to escape. I equate it to creativity, and I definitely equate it to having a good time.”

The 22 Jump St actor has previously spoken about his fondness for junk food, though that’s arguably a lesser addiction. This is the man who called himself ‘fappy’ meaning he was ‘fat and happy’.

This is what he had to say about his favourite hobby, eating: “I really do love it [food]. It’s terrible and it’s bad, but I really do think it’s because I have an inner fat kid in me. I can completely lose myself into just absolutely satisfying things — a really amazing cheeseburger, a pizza, good fries, a beer. I enjoy being comfortable and eating whatever the hell I like.”

Speaking of delicious things, here’s Channing inexplicably preparing breakfast for the June GQ issue.

Obviously, Tatum’s revelations about alcoholism are serious and we hope that he seeks appropriate medical and psychological support.

He has the full back-up of his lovely little family. He married his wife Jenna in 2009 and then this happened: “We had sort of a crazy, harebrained idea to try and have a kid, and it happened the first time, basically. I don’t think we thought it all the way through.”

The couple’s baby girl Everly was born on May 31, 2013, in London. Here she is on that day, little cherub:
