Chris Hemsworth's mum taught him a valuable life lesson.

Chris Hemsworth, 32, is starring in two upcoming films that are both dominated by women: the new Ghostbusters movie and the prequel to Snow White and the Huntsman.

Does Thor have a problem with this? No, he does not, because Thor has a brain.

“I think the balance has been tipped for a long time heavily in the men’s direction,” the actor told The Radio Times about The Huntsman: Winter’s War, in which Charlize Theron reprises her role as Evil Queen Ravenna, Emily Blunt plays her sister Ice Queen Freya, and Jessica Chastain plays Sara, a warrior.

“There are seven to eight male superheroes and one female in there. This is the opposite.

“It’s exciting to be part of something like that. But it’s a funny conversation to even have, because of course it should be that way. Of course it should be equal.”

In Ghostbusters, Hemsworth plays a receptionist. I think he makes a wonderful receptionist.

When asked if he identifies as a feminist, Hemsworth responded, “Oh yeah, for sure. My mum’s a big feminist. I think that my views on things, as far as respect for women and so on, came from my mum. My dad has a very balanced and respectful view on a lot of things too. They were huge positive influences in my life.”

Hemsworth is dad to three-year-old India and two-year-old twin boys Sasha and Tristan with his wife actress Elsa Pataky. He’s also brother to several other attractive actors.

He and Pataky were married within a year of meeting one another in 2010 in an extremely low-key wedding.

“There was no great plan to any of it to be honest. We were on holiday and we said ‘Why don’t we get married too?’ And then the next minute… There probably should have been some planning but it all worked out,” he said on Good Morning Britain recently.

“Honestly, we had both our families on holiday at the same time, just randomly, and we said this is a good opportunity with everyone together so we just did it.”
