It’s an unlikely friendship. Or is it?
OK, so Mamamia implemented a total Geoffrey Edelsten, 72, and Gabi Grecko, 26, ban a few months back, because something seemed seriously wrong in that relationship, and we didn’t want to have any part of it.
However, we never said we wouldn’t write about a a beautiful, blossoming friendship between the loud-suited septuagenarian and the least popular Bachelor of all time.
Upon reflection, we can really see why these two have bonded on the set of the Celebrity Apprentice.
“I didn’t know that much about him; I just knew there was a bit of controversy with some young ladies,” Garvey told the Herald Sun on the weekend.
“He reminds me of my grandad. He’s lovely and well-spoken. I can’t speak more highly of him.”
No word on how the dyed, coiffed and multiply-married Edelsten feels about that description.
Nor how poor Gramps Garvey feels about the comparison, either.
Garvey came to our attention as Australia’s second Bachelor. He whittled down his potential mates to Sam Frost, proposed to her, then promptly dumped her for Louise Pillidge, earning the contempt of all of Australia.
Edelsten, meanwhile, has no qualms about the follow-through. He’s wed two much younger women in the past eight years, and three all up.
“He’s just the sweetest guy,” Garvey insists.
The two are part of a motley crew that makes up the cast of Celebrity Apprentice this year.
Also involved are Edelsten’s other half Gabi Grecko, radio DJ Mel Greig, Real Housewife Gina Liano, Sophie Monk, actress Esther Anderson, NRL player Matt Cooper, presenter James Mathison, Big Brother winner Tim Dormer, beauty queen Tegan Martin and Hollywood gossip extraordinaire Richard Reid.
Wow. Just wow. It’s going to be quite a show.

Don't you have to actually be a celebrity to participate in "celebrity" TV shows such as Dancing With The Stars and Celebrity Apprentice?
So sweet! Jeffrey Edelsten reminds me of...well, actually I don't have anyone in my family who tried to have someone beaten by a hitman.
