'Girls' actress cut up her placenta and drank it as a smoothie.

A word of warning: Do not read this if you have just had a smoothie. Or a meal. Or any food whatsoever. It’s a bit… unpleasant.

American actress Gaby Hoffmann, who has recently appeared in Girls and starred in Now and Then and Sleepless in Seattle as a child, has cut up her placenta and put it in a smoothie.

Yes, that’s right. CUT UP HER PLACENTA. PUT IT IN A SMOOTHIE.

32-year-old Gaby is a new mum. She gave birth to her daughter Rosemary in November.

“I had a home birth, so my midwife and my doula took it and cut it up into 20 pieces and froze it, and every day, I put it in a blender with strawberries and blueberries and guava juice and a banana, and I drank that s**t up.” Gaby told People magazine.

“I made smoothies out of it for three weeks.”

Girls star Gaby Hoffmann.

Apparently, eating a bit of placenta does WONDERS for energy levels and milk supply.

“Placenta, placenta, placenta. Just eat that s**t up, and it does a girl good.”

STOP SAYING IT. WE BEG YOU.

“You don’t even taste it.”

Okay, carry on with your day now. If you can.
