Singer Joey Feek has died after sharing her heartbreaking cancer journey with the world.

Country singer Joey Feek, 40, has today lost her long battle with cancer. She passed away surrounded by family at her home in Indiana.

Her husband, Rory, broke the news on his blog This Life I Live. He wrote:

“My wife’s greatest dream came true today.  She is in Heaven.

The cancer is gone, the pain has ceased and all her tears are dry.  Joey is in the arms of her beloved brother Justin and using her pretty voice to sing for her savior.

At 2:30 this afternoon, as we were gathered around her, holding hands and praying.. my precious bride breathed her last.  And a moment later took her first breath on the other side…

When a person has been through as much pain and struggle as Joey’s been through, you just want it to be over.  You want them to not have to hurt anymore, more that you want them to stay with you.  And so, it makes the hard job of saying goodbye just a little easier.”

The world fell in love with the country singing duo when Rory started documenting his life with Joey and their daughter Indiana, with all of the ups and downs of Joey’s battle, and their last moments together.

Just last month, Rory shared a post about ‘a week to remember’ , where he revealed that his wife’s wish was to be alive to see their daughter turn two.

Joey and Rory married in 2002 and in 2008, began performing as the duo Joey + Rory. In 2014, Joey was diagnosed with cervical cancer, just four months after giving birth to Indiana.

Rory will now return to Tennessee with their daughter, as well as his older daughters. We hope that the Feeks will now rest, knowing that Joey is no longer suffering.
