Mad Men actor Jon Hamm has just been released from rehab.

Our thoughts are with him and his family as he recovers.

One of the most beloved actors of the binge-watch era, Jon Hamm, has just announced he’s completed a stint in rehab.

Hamm, 44, checked himself into a facility to deal with an addiction to alcohol, a spokesperson has confirmed.

“With the support of his longtime partner, Jennifer Westfeldt, Jon Hamm recently completed treatment for his struggle with alcohol addiction. They have asked for privacy and sensitivity going forward,” his rep said in a statement.

The actor has played Don Draper, a character known for heavy drinking and dealing with demons of his own, on the TV series for seven seasons. Fans have noticed the startling parallels between his character and himself, something that Hamm has tried to stay away from.

In a 2013 interview with The Observer, Hamm stressed that he did not want to be like his Mad Men character.

“I’m not that methody. I am very cognisant that I am playing a character. Don Draper is a pretty dismal, despicable guy, so why I would want to take him home with me I don’t know.”

Hamm does not have a reputation for heavy drinking or partying, and spoke to People last year about staying away from the Hollywood lifestyle.

“There were a couple years I was living on $5000, [so] that’s a pretty effective way to avoid that [lifestyle],” he said at the time.

“I was never into the club scene. I have a couple friends who run clubs and they’ll call and say come out! And I’ll go and say, ‘Oh yeah, I forgot I don’t like this. I feel like everybody’s uncle or grandfather. I’m too old.'”
