The two life lessons Jules Sebastian wants her boys to learn.

She’s broken in to the fashion world as a stylist, runs a succesful blog and is married to one of Australia’s most loved singers, Guy Sebastian. On top of all that Jules Sebastian has two young boys, and seems to juggle everything seamlessly.

But, like all mums (working or stay-at-home) Jules has her challenges and says that raising two boys can be hard at times.

“I think boys are just like little energy bunnies. They just never stop.”

Jules tells me that you need to have a long battery life to keep up with boys.

"They can just go and go and go. So it’s quite exhausting being a mum of two boys because of the physical energy you have to expel," she says.

The fashion stylist has two sons, three-year-old Hudson and one-year-old Archie. She says having boys that are different ages can make the running around a little easier. Because the older one doesn't stop and the younger one is a bit slower. But that can create other challenges.

"It’s about doing things with them that they can both do and that I can handle when I’ve got them both together...that’s probably the most challenging thing for me. But luckily, they’re pretty close in age. So I think the older they get, the easier they will get."

I ask if she's ruled out the idea of trying for a girl one day. he doesn't want to say that it'll never happen but she's very happy with her family at the moment.

"Everybody asks me...I don't know. Never say never."

"I come from a family of three. Guy has four brothers in his family, so we come from semi-big families. I'm going to say, 'never say never'. But the immediate plan, no," she says.

While she says that parenting (especially two boys) has its challenges, Jules has been lucky in that she has never felt judged for her parenting or parenting style.

"I’m probably my most harsh critic," she says. "I think I probably am pretty hard on myself when it comes to my parenting. Because who knows what the right decisions are, and what will be best and what the future is," she continues.

Her advice for other parents is to not base their parenting decisions on what other people think, but to do what is right for you and your own family.

"I think it really comes down to you as a family," she says. "Because everyone is different and every child has different needs."

But there are two pieces of wisdom that she wants her boys to grow up with and that she wants to instill in them as their mother. One is to be happy and the other is to have manners.

"I just think kids without manners are just, not cool. So, that would be the advice. I think you can get through life really well if you’ve got - if you're kind to people, and you’ve got good manners," she says.

Amen to that.
