Kylie and Kendall Jenner's greatest fear is slightly ridiculous.

It’s no secret Kylie and Kendall Jenner live in a completely different world to most people, but in an interview this weekend the famous sisters demonstrated just how removed they are from the kind of lives the rest of us are accustomed to.

Case in point: their greatest fear right now is not the prospect of establishing a career, or moving out of home, or making ends meet. It’s not even having their TV show Keeping Up With The Kardashians axed.

It’s… getting old. And they don’t mean ‘retirement village’ old — we’re talking 20 years and older.

“I’m scared of the day I turn 19. I really don’t want to grow past 18,” Kylie, the 17-year-old baby of the Kardashian-Jenner Klan, told The Sunday Times. (Post continues after gallery.)

She then turned to older sis Kendall, who at 19 is practically middle-aged, and offered her a dire warning: “You’ll be 20 this year. That’s crazy. And any second you’ll be, like, 21, 22, 23.”

Ah, little sisters; you’ve got to love their brutal honesty.

Kendall seemed to agree, however, and said the mere thought of hitting the big 2-0 was “terrifying”.

“It’s scary. Life is scary… You see a picture and you’ve changed so much in a year,” the model said.

"It's just scary how fast everything is rolling and you can't stop it. It's rolling right now."

To be fair, it's not unusual for people of any age to be a little freaked out about getting older year by year — especially when approaching milestone ages like 20, 30 or 50. Let's just hope Kylie and Kendall don't experience the dreaded 'quarter life crisis' that strikes a lot of people when they hit their mid-20s.

Age-related angst aside, Kendall does hit the nail on the head regarding life speeding along. It's already June, for goodness sakes. Wasn't it February just last week?

The interview also touched on the significance of social media in modern life, a topic the Instagram-obsessed Kardashians and Jenners know an awful lot about. (Post continues after gallery.)

Unsurprisingly, the sisters are glued to their phones, to the point where the Times interviewer had to scold them into looking up from their screens and talking to her. Clearly they haven't read our article about detoxing from your smartphone.

"I think social media has taken over for our generation. It's a big part of our lives and it's kind of sad," admitted a clearly self-aware Kendall.

"I hate it sometimes, like, I literally want to throw my phone so I can't look at it. It's all a made-up world if you think about it. Social media, everything, this interview, everything. It's not real."
