Laurina on Laurina: Why I wasn't chosen as the Bachelorette.

We had Laurina Fleure tipped to be the next Bachelorette.

Sam Frost hoodwinked us all into believing that she wouldn’t be. Sneaky.

So why isn’t the Dirty Street pie hating, love-to-hate-to-love-her Laurina this year’s Bachelorette?

She spoke to The Daily Mail about why she wasn’t picked and about Sam’s casting. She was equal parts supportive and cutting. We’d expect nothing less.

Sam’s rival Louise had something to say about the casting. Find out what she had to say HERE.

“Now she can redeem the image of jilted Bachelorette,” she told The Daily Mail Australia.

Sam was famously scorned by Bachie Blake at the end of last years season of the Bachelor, when he proposed in Africa… and then took it back before they could even, ahem, consummate the engagement.

It was awkward. You can read more about it HERE.

The Bachelorette with Sam at the helm will be amazing television, we’ve no doubt. Laurina told The Daily Mail that she thinks Sam was cast so that the story and drama of last year can continue. “I think Sam would have always been first choice, if she had turned it down it probably would have gone to me maybe,” she said.

Laurina is five years older than Sam, and thinks that might also have something to do with the casting. Because the Bachelorette only cast men between 24 and 34, and Laurina thinks Sam is a more “age appropriate” choice.

Laurina is only 31, so not sure we totally follow the logic on that one.

While we are pretty sure Laurina would have loved to be Australia’s first Bachelorette (and we would have loved watching her), she told Daily Mail she’s happy for Sam’s appointment.

“I think she will win Australia over easily.”

We think so too, Laurina. But, just quietly, you also would have killed it.

No doubt Laurina would have been a captivating Bachelorette. Who else would you have picked to step up to the plate?
