In case you hadn’t heard and aren’t particularly sporting-world inclined, 30-year-old Lionel Messi is one of the greatest, if not the greatest, soccer player on our planet.
Which means a lot of talent, a lot of fame and of course, a lot of money.
What it also means is that the day of his wedding was always going to be a very big and very public affair.

The Argentinian-born champion married his childhood sweetheart Antonela Roccuzzo, 29, in his hometown of Rosario on Friday in what local papers have dubbed the “wedding of the century”.
Held in a luxury hotel, the wedding catered to 260 guests, with hundreds of police deployed for the event and about 150 journalists receiving accreditation to enter a special press area. It also, um, had its own red carpet.
According to the BBC, Messi met his wife when he was just five years old. Roccuzzo is the cousin of Messi’s best friend, Lucas Scaglia, who also went on to become a professional football player.
The couple also share two children together, Thiago and Mateo.
It’s believed Roccuzzo’s wedding dress was flown in on a private jet from Spain, and looking at some of these photos, we can see why.
