Nicole Kidman says she's a better mum when she's a working mum.

Nicole Kidman has a daughter and a son from her marriage to Tom Cruise, and two daughters with husband Keith Urban. She says she’s at her best when she’s a working mother.

The 48-year-old says that she is happiest when she’s with her two daughters; Sunday, seven, and Faith, five. But she also thinks she’s a better mother to them when she is working on other projects that she’s passionate about.

“There was a period where I didn’t do anything, and my mum said, ‘I really think you need to get back and do something’,” she tells Harpers Bazaar.

Kidman admits that she wants to be around her girls all the time because that's when she's happiest

"It's that simple. But for me to completely give up doing any of this, what would I do artistically?" she tells the magazine.

The Hollywood actress says it probably makes her a better mum and will, "be better for everyone in the family".

"I don't want to be the mother who lives vicariously through my daughters, so I'm trying to balance it," she tells Harpers Bazaar.

The doting mum says that having young kids, and spending so much time with them means she often has some sort of sickness.

"It's having a five-year-old. You get every virus going," she says to the magazine.

Kidman has often spoken about her fertility struggles. The actress had two miscarriage when she was withTom Cruise so the couple adopted two children Isabella, 23 and Connor, 21. Sunday was her first biological child who she conceived with her current husband Keith Urban, 48. They had their second daughter, Faith via surrogate two years later.

We love their little family and are so glad that Kidman will stay with acting while raising her daughters because she is so beautiful to watch.
