@snorks The term dodgy is often used to explain illegal acts. Eg. dodgy scheme, dodgy payments, dodgy workmanship

it's ... an uncomfortable experience hearing a woman reduce another woman to her physical appearance when assessing her worthiness
Huh? This individual is a Hollywood actor. They are reduced to their "physical appearance" all the time.

When overseas celebrities appear on our reality shows, is it pre-agreed that they will only appear for a limited time of the show?

simple simon April 15, 2024

@rush I think it was more that having a (high status) man is the be all and end all for a woman.

using romance and love as an excuse to continue dating [problematic men]
Oh, so that was why. Yes, the way Carrie constantly fawned over and went back to Big was actually nauseating. (And I would have thought the complete opposite of being a strong, independent woman.)

When they want to know about my passions, hobbies and interests, I'm not sure what to say outside of pizza and watching MAFS. Awkwardly, this is also my typical Saturday night ... and do I... have any other hobbies? I must? Next question.
They want to know about challenges I've faced in my search for true love, and my preference for not leaving the house feels like a pretty significant barrier. Which kind of feeds into "What other methods have you used to find love?", because what methods? I've been waiting for a hot daddy to turn up and knock on my door and so far, it hasn't been panning out, which is weird.
LOL! You should do stand up comedy.

I'd never heard of rain pants.

he slid into her DMs ... you can imagine how many she gets, including from famous men ... She thinks that's yuck ... Not this time though
Ummm... okay.

a detail he hid from MAFS producers
Huh? Surely the show carry out background criminal checks on all the men?

@bellwea88 In the same way getting an education is seen as an investment, many women in influencer and adult-related fields see having cosmetic surgery as an investment.

@simple simon LOL! From the link.

"Waking up in the middle of the night to guzzle protein shakes and eating 10 chicken and rice meals a day.

These are just some of the methods Hollywood hunks ... claim they used to achieve their muscular physiques."

And from same link,
"I've eaten more chickens — I'm so sorry to all the vegans and vegetarians and to the chickens of the world. Literally, the karma is not good for me. If the deity has anything related to chickens, I'm in trouble."

who can compete with an ex UFC fighting ...
Joe Rogan was never a UFC fighter.

Huh? You make it sound like if women don't marry men with money, they will be desitute on the street. I think (in western countries) that might have been the case in the past, but not now.

If a young, glamorous woman wants to marry a man for his money, good for her. My only question is: if said man is a high-profile footballer, why are we suddenly so fascinated with the woman? (And completely ignoring that they only married said man because he's a high-income and high-status footballer?)

On a related point, is it true that before the advent of major cosmetic enhancements - which I assume would be cosmetic surgery in the '70s - that when high-profile women, known for their glamour, aged, they would actually withdraw from public life?

Pop culture quiz. Which Australian action star, who when asked about his muscular transformations, would put on his greatest acting performance in immediately breaking into whines of: I have to eat all this chicken, I have to eat all this chicken, it's so boring, it's so boring?

simple simon April 3, 2024

Yes, I'm enjoying Callum too. But c'mon, let's say it as it is: we are only really enjoying this because he's young, attractive and has a cute accent.

Look, I don't think many Kylie Minogue fans would be fully up for camping in the mud at a multi day music festival.

simple simon March 24, 2024

On the show yesterday Skye Wheatley asked a fellow contestant if their partner had "natural breasts". They chuckled, as I assume they, as I did, had never heard that term before.

simple simon March 22, 2024

@rush But they all have different heel heights? It should make for an interesting gait. (On a related point, is it true that Marilyn Monroe would shave one heel down to be lower than the other so she wiggled more when walked?)

I used to get terrible headaches every 6-8 weeks, and they would last three whole days. I was taking so many sick days that HR actually reported me to my manager. After finally figuring out something was wrong, i did the runaround with a range of medical professionals, until i finally got referred to a neurologist. He tried several medications that did nothing; then finally tried a medication called Flunarazine. And it was amazing; it was like magic.

Now, GPs can not prescribe it - and most likely have never even heard of it. You will need a referral from a GP to a neurologist. Then, pharmacists don't stock it; they will need to order it in, and not all pharmacists will have a supplier that carries it. So you will need to ask around.
