@aladieslabour I agree that the concept of small & informal weddings isn't new, but its also worth noting that many cultures have always had large weddings.
@yeahyepyes So we can listen, apologise and change, the same way that Beyonce and Lizzo did, and the world will be a better place. You'll notice that both Lizzo and Beyonce are doing just fine after being called out, its hardly the terrible fate that conservatives make it out to be.
To be fair, he's not refusing to be questioned or to testify, he is just invoking the 5th as his answer to those questions.
@katp there is no difference between a mother and a father, the terms are simply represent the gender identity of the person they refer to. Once a child has physically been born, biology is entirely irrelevant to parenting.
I do not believe that there is anything that a parent of one gender provides that cannot be provided by a parent of another gender. I suggest thinking very carefully about how your arguments here have been used for decades to try take children away from same-sex couples and single parents.
@rush it was part of the meat-only diet though.
@katp the only articles I can find pose a (possible) link between parents who work evenings when their child is a teenager and teenage depression. If you have any information about working mothers in a child's pre-schools years somehow causing teenage mental health issues, feel free to share it. So far you, and this article, haven't shown any evidence for that at all. Thats what a sweeping unsupported assertion is, one made without reference to evidence.
@katp we have words for many concepts that are sexist and redundant.
@katp Mental health experts have many theories about the increase in mental health issues among young people- climate change, social media, economic pressures, and the impact of better diagnosis and less stigma. None of these experts believe that the issue is parents working full time.
@katp it makes far less sense to link the two without any evidence. Especially since, as Laura points out, parents are spending more time with their children not less.
@rush or until you end up in a coma, as Peterson did.
@poodletime its not a competition.
You cant argue choice and biological determinism at the same time.
Alex Jones is a pretty decent argument that there must be limits to "free speech". You shouldnt be able to put people through this sort of trauma.
Age gaps are one thing when it's 30 and 50, but when one person is under 25 its a whole different situation. When one has a "teen" at the end of their age it should be illegal.
@kate m yeah, Ive looked into it. Its undeniably true that its hearsay.
Michael Peterson sold his story/alleged crime in every form that he could, at every turn he could- docos, books, he's still out there writing vile things in the press about everyone he's ever met. Even if he is innocent, he made himself fair game a long time ago. I don't think you could compare him to Amy Winehouse or the Morcombe family at all.
@mamamia-user-482898552 I would argue that if the family approves of a biopic its probably not accurate at all. Most people's lives don't look that good when presented truthfully.
@kate m you mean where a third party says that amber's sister said he cut his finger off. Hearsay of (alleged) hearsay, in other words.
@rush the only problem is that some kids are ready earlier, so they get bored at home/daycare.
@kaylieweir I think it worse than having no respect, he seems to actively and violently hate women, as well as anyone who tries to get him to take responsibility for his addiction and actions.
