Ryan's take on Blake as a mum will bring you to (funny) tears.

You’ve never heard a dad be so brilliantly honest.

Every man views his wife differently after she’s had a baby. She was the bearer of his child, and then she brings a new life in to the world and feeds it, bathes it and keeps it alive.

Ryan Reynolds is no different – he has completely changed the way he sees his wife Blake Lively after she gave birth to their first daughter (not named Violet).

He's got a lot to say about it too.

He spoke about parenthood and his wife's new mothering role in an interview with David Letterman this week.

"I'm not one for vomiting declarations of sentiment out across the airwaves, but when we had that baby I felt more in love with my wife than I have ever been in my entire life. I couldn't even believe it," he said.

And that's where the sappy sentiment stopped.

He continued, "I used to say to her, 'I would take a bullet for you' - 'I could never love anything as much as I love you' - I would say that to my wife. And then the second I looked in to that baby's eyes I knew in that exact moment that if we were ever under attack, I would use my wife as a human shield, to protect that baby."

His realistic description about the roles of parenthood, and the difference between a man's and a woman's duties when their baby is first born were absolutely spot on.

"As a guy, I'm just a diaper changing facility hooked up to a life support system. But my wife, she's breakfast lunch and dinner. She's a human Denny's. All day long and all night long," he told the late night host.

"She's the most beautiful Denny's you've ever seen though - I guarantee it."

This isn't Ryan's first appearance where he has hit the parenting nail right on all mothers and fathers heads.

On Thursday he appeared on Live with Kelly and Michael in America and admitted that their little girl was a huge fan of the late night feed.

“If anything else woke up every 45 minutes during the night demanding to see my wife’s breasts, you kill it...[but with] a baby, you’re like, ‘Wahoo!'” He joked with the hosts.

It's not the usual father gush that we hear when a baby is born. But damn is Ryan absolutely spot on.

At the same time, Blake Lively shared the first photo of herself since giving birth, unfortunately no baby in sight.

Mother's and father's you agree with the funny man, right?
