Sam Frost explains why she deleted all of her social media accounts.

Just hours after blasting New Idea magazine for spreading false stories about her relationship with The Bachelorette winner Sasha Mielczarek, the 27-year-old shocked her fans by deleting all traces of herself on social media.

This morning, her Twitter, Instagram and official Facebook pages were still deactivated. Taking to the air with her breakfast show co-host Rove this morning, Sam explained why she had taken such an extreme measure.

"Lots of people..say, 'Oh, you asked for this' and I'm like, I know I did this show and I know I opened up my love life and I share little bits and pieces of my relationship to the public, but I didn't expect it to be like this," she said.

"I don't think anyone can predict how it's going to change their life. And now I work in the media and it's bound to happen."

"I just decided to go on a digital detox...it’s tiring having to constantly defend your relationship because you haven’t posted a bloody photo on social media," she continued.

"Spoilers guys, when we’re actually spending time together we’re not thinking, ‘We should definitely get a picture to make sure people know we’re still together’."

The disappearance of Sam's social channels come just months after she publicly admitted that constant trolling had "broken her", telling them that they "had won".

This morning, Sam assured her fans that she was just taking a "break" from social media, and needed to step away from the public and media constantly scrutinising everything she said and posted.

"I find it difficult to navigate my way around social media and I haven’t figured out how to guide my way through...I already feel so much better and I just feel not as anxious," she told Rove.

"I still feel like I'm so new to this, sometimes I think maybe I'm not cut out for this industry because I find it difficult, I find it difficult to read the comments."
