Having publicly announced their relationship just seven months ago, it seems that former The Biggest Loser Australia contestant Sam Rouen has finally found “the one”, announcing his engagement to girlfriend Daniella Schot on Monday.
Taking to Instagram, the 27-year-old firefighter shared an image of his flight-attendant fiancee’s hand, a stunning pear-shaped diamond taking centre stage, on Monday.

The caption accompanying the image read, "It’s not everyday you ask the person you love to marry them. Today was definitely a special day and one we will never forget. Excited to see what the future holds and feel incredibly blessed to have such a loving partner and amazing families on both sides. Thank you for (eventually) saying yes, I’m definitely the luckiest guy in the world.”

Rouen, who appeared on and won the 2008 series of TBL after losing a whopping 71 kilograms (almost half of his body weight at the time), has kept fitness a major part of his life in the eight years that have passed, now working as a fire fighter.
“It really just seems so long ago, I can’t imagine walking around and living in that body any more,” Rouen admitted.
