She had the voice of an angel but now she's broke.

Charlotte Church has something to say and you won’t believe what it is.

We remember her as the angelic little girl with the super sweet voice, who we first heard on our radios in 1998. But now, Charlotte Church says the fortune she made in her singing career is all but gone.

Voice of an Angelrich as most of us

‘I will have to work for the rest of my life. Not because I want to but because I have to. I always understood that all that stuff isn’t important and my career was not the be and end all” Charlotte told BBC.

By 2010, Charlotte was left with a fortune totalling $20 million and last year it decreased again to $15 million. Yet she says she is worth much less than this since her career has taken a standstill.

“The tax man is looking at my accounts wondering where I’m hiding all my money,” says Charlotte.

After her breakout in classical music, Charlotte tried her hand at pop but now sings neither. She owns her own record label calling Alligator Wine, which has not been hugely successful.

Charlotte split from her partner of five years and ex-fiance rugby star Gavin Henson in 2010. She had two children with Gavin, a daughter Ruby, 6, and a son Dexter, 5. She now lives with in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales, with her new partner Jonathan Powell and her two children.
