Victoria Beckham warns the reunited Spice Girls: 'don't sing our songs.'

PSA: Victoria Beckham is not – I repeat IS NOT – okay with her ex-band mates using their old hits.

While Ginger Spice Geri Horner, Scary Spice Melanie Brown and Baby Spice Emma Bunton have teamed up to create a new band “GEM”, Beckham (Posh Spice) and Sporty Spice Melanie Chisholm have bowed out.

The 42-year-old designer is happy for the trio to rekindle, but says she’s uneasy about them rehashing old Spice Girl tunes.

“Of course, as a new group, I do [wish them well],” she told The Sunday Times.

“I do think they should sing their own material though, because what we did in the Spice Girls was so special. If they sang Spice Girls songs I think I might be a bit sad.”

While the thought of her ex-band mates coming together stirs up a sense of nostalgia, the mother-of-four says her booming fashion empire - thought to be worth in excess of AUD $100 million - is too important to abandon.

"I think I learnt a lot from the Spice Girls, most importantly how you can have everything one minute and then lose it the next," she said, adding: "I've been given a second chance, so I'm not going to lose it again."

When Brown spoke to Access Hollywood earlier in the year, she hinted the majority of GEM music would be new, however, didn't rule out the possibility of re-sampling old songs.

"We’ve been in the studio kind of experimenting with some different sounds and stuff like that but nothing to be able to share just yet," she said.

RIP, Spice Girl songs.

Meanwhile, Chisholm - who did agree to re-joining the band for a one-off performance at the 2012 London Olympics - echoed Beckham's sentiment that the Spice Girls shouldn't be revived.

“I was talked round and it was the right thing to do, we had a great time and then we played at the closing ceremony for the Olympics in 2012," she said.

"That to me was where [the Spice Girls] should have been laid to rest. Sometimes you just have to say no."
