Judge dismisses lawsuit against Taylor Swift using Taylor Swift lyrics.

Upholding the law is a weighty responsibility.

There’s little room for lightheartedness in the solemn sphere of court.

So when one Jessie Braham sued popstar Taylor Swift for stealing lyrics, Los Angeles Judge Gail Standish saw that her moment for a playful judgement, one that would show the world how truly jovial she is, had come.

Braham had claimed that 92 per cent of Taylor Swift’s massive hit Shake It Off had been nicked from his song Haters Gone Hate.

“At present, the Court is not saying that Braham can never, ever, ever get his case back in court,” Standish began her judgement.

Swift’s lyrics are as follows: “Cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play. And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate,” and, “And the fakers gonna fake, fake, fake, fake, fake.”

Braham’s go: “Haters gone hate, playas gone play. Watch out for them fakers, they’ll fake you every day.”

He was seeking $42 million plus a songwriter credit.

As though he were the first to observe that players, they play, and haters? They hate. Don’t even start with the fakers.

That cheeky magistrate was just killing herself laughing while she wrote this ruling.

At present, the Court is not saying that Braham can never, ever, ever get his case back in court. But, for now, we have got problems, and the Court is not sure Braham can solve them. As currently drafted, the Complaint has a blank space — one that requires Braham to do more than write his name. And, upon consideration of the Court’s explanation in Part II, Braham may discover that mere pleading Band-Aids will not fix the bullet holes in this case. At least for the moment, Defendants have shaken off this lawsuit.

That wag!

Standish is now guaranteed protection by several million tweenage Swifties. For life.
