It’s a good day for good people doing good things.
In case your heart isn’t already warmed by the celebrations post yes-vote, Taylor Swift’s performance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon might just leave you a bit teary-eyed.
The Monday night performance was a pivotal one, considering it was the first episode Fallon hosted since his mother Gloria’s sudden death on November 5.
In a series of tweets shared by writer and producer for The Tonight Show, Mike DiCenzo said that although Swift wasn’t scheduled to perform, when asked she did so “with zero hesitation.”
First, a quick word about Taylor Swift. She was not scheduled to do our show today. But we wanted something special for this first show back, so we asked her on a complete whim, since she had been in town doing SNL. She said yes with zero hesitation.

Seems really weird and inappropriate that the producer felt the need to make a big statement about Taylor and how amazing she is in this context. Truly magnanimous people don't need public recognition for doing good - indeed, often the most generous philanthropists do so completely anonymously. Someone's just lost their Mum, but everyone give Taylor a round of applause for being a hero - it's all about her. Call me a cynic, but this sounds like a producer doing another producer a public relations favour by giving their client a little positive publicity.
Yep! Nothing happens in her life that isn't a crafty PR move.
