The surprising twist you didn't see during The Voice kids finale...

We all know that reality television can be a little unrealistic at times but it seems The Voice Kids may be taking the “real” out of the scenario completely.

It’s only been four days since the series winner was crowned but it’s been revealed that the season final of The Voice Kids was actually filmed some three months ago.

According to The ABC’s new program Reality Check, the final was filmed to accommodate the busy schedule of ex-Spicegirl judge Mel B. But that’s not even the surprising part.

In an interesting twist it was revealed that the announcement of the winner was filmed three times. That’s once with each of the three finalists being crowned winner.

We can’t work out whether this was a lovely way to make all the finalists feel included or a somewhat cruel and unrealistic taunt aimed at avoiding tears from the two runners-up.

Either way it seems that reality is at a growing loss in the twisted industry that is reality television.

Take a look at some of the kids who competed on this years’ show:

What do you think? Was it fair of The Voice Kids to film at three finalists as winners?
