FINALLY: UK Vogue to expose magazine fakery. Hurrah.

1. UK Vogue to expose magazine fakery, hurrah!

Vogue is making a behind-the-scenes documentary that will expose “the difference between fashion and reality and how a fashion image is constructed.”

British Vogue editor and Equity Model Code champion, Alexandra Shulman, 55,  has revealed she is making a film for schools which highlights how models look the way they do in the magazine’s pages with the help of make-up, lighting and airbrushing.

In order to give teenagers a more body positive message,  it will been shown to secondary school students and Shulman says she hopes to stop “a 12-year-old looking at a fashion model in Vogue [from] thinking, ‘Why don’t I look like that?'”

Given the launch of the teen-focused Miss Vogue magazine both here and in the UK, this can only be a good thing.

3. Beyonce invites a toddler on stage, it’s NOT Blue Ivy okay.

Several media outlets mistakenly reported that a toddler Beyonce plucked off the stage during her London concert was her 15-month-old daughter, Blue Ivy.

Not so. A rep for the singer told Just Jared (and as Us Weekly put it) she was “just a kid in the crowd.”

The toddler wore protective earphones and held hands with 31-year-old Beyoncé as she performed Irreplaceable to a 20,000-strong crowd.

Two days later, Beyoncé admitted she is planning to have more children on Good Morning America.

“I would like more children,” she said. “I think my daughter needs company. I definitely love being a big sister [to Solange].”

5. Scientists accidentally discover the cure for grey hair.

While conducting a study for a new treatment for vitiligo, a condition that causes depigmentation of sections of skin, researchers accidentally stumbled upon the trick to fighting the cause of grey hair.

They found men and women go grey due to a build up of hydrogen peroxide in the hair follicle, causing it to lose colour, to conteract this they applied a “topical, ultraviolet B-activated pseudo-catalase called PC-KUS”.

Doesn’t sound sexy, but it worked.

“For generations, numerous remedies have been concocted to hide gray hair,” said Biologist Gerald Weissmann. “But now, for the first time, an actual treatment that gets to the root of the problem has been developed.”

And yes, he really said that pun.

7. Kimye (that’s Kim and Kanye, it’s a thing we’re trying – okay?) hang at Anna Wintour’s place, presumably eat dinner.

What do you wear to dine with The Devil who wears Prada?

You guessed it, Prada.

That was the situation Kim Kardashian was in when she and Kanye West were invited to Editor-in-Chief of Vogue, Anna Wintour’s New York home for an “intimate dinner” on Sunday night.

Kardashian took to Instagram to share her look; a black, short-sleeved Prada dress with red-and-white flower detailing, white heels, side-swept hair and red lipstick.

Wintour and Kimye are all expected to attend the event often dubbed as the fashion Oscar’s, the 2013 Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

This year’s theme is Punk and it’s sure going to be interesting to see how it’s interpreted by fashion designers and celebrities.
