Whitney Port says her wedding dress was inspired by "a vintage chandelier".

It’s got a waterfall hemline and it was inspired by “a vintage chandelier,” apparently.

Reality TV queen and designer Whitney Port, 30, got married on Saturday to long-term partner Tim Rosenman.

Six days after her wedding, the former The Hills and The City star posted an image of her wedding outfit to Instagram.

Port, whose wedding took place in the mountains of Palm Springs in California, wore a custom-made gown made in collaboration with Beirut-based label Ashi Studio.

It featured lace and a high neckline, along with a hemline that dips at the back and shortens dramatically at the front (a look that’s proved controversial among Instagram commenters).

“At the start, Whitney saw a dress from the latest couture collection and she got inspired for an idea for her wedding dress,” Mohammad Ashi of Ashi Studio told Us Weekly. “It was inspired by a vintage chandelier from Venice and Florence.”

According to the magazine, the dress was embroidered with silver and decorated with off-white pearls.

Port also wore white gold, pearl, and diamond earrings by Delfina Delettrez and a pearl stud originally belonging to Rosenman’s mother.

In the Instagram wedding snap — by photographer Hannah Costello — Port’s relaxed, messy-bun wedding hair style is also visible. It stands in contrast to the softer, braided style she wore for her bridal shower and posted to Instagram along with the caption “Mrs. Rosenman”.

Post continues after gallery:

Whitney Eve label founder Port met Rosenman on the set of The City, where he was an associate producer. The couple announced their engagement about a year later in November 2013, after he proposed with a 3-carat oval engagement ring.

Their wedding was organised by Port’s sister Ashley, who runs BK Events.

We’re very happy for this beautiful, famous pair. The only question we have is: Why couldn’t she have chosen a hemline that’s easier for the future brides among us to copy?
