'I've tried all the leggings. These are my favourite pairs for short girls.'

You know how some people collect handbags or antiques? I collect leggings. I wear them almost every day and I've tried most brands that make them.

I'm also short. Reeeeally short. Finding pants that don't need taking up (ha!) – that's near impossible. But finding leggings that are the right length? That's something I've figured out.

Although most activewear brands make petite leggings – they're generally called Something Something 7/8 – my favourite pairs are more than just the right length.

They're also really comfortable. And not too tight on the tummy area. And don't roll down when you do activities.

I've recommended these all before, and you bet I will again. Here are my favourite leggings for short girls.

LSKD 7/8 Length Tights

I own various pairs of these leggings and rotate between them often. I have both the Elixir ($95) and Rep ($95), and don't have a preference.

All of these leggings are buttery soft and rival a very popular pair of leggings (and in my opinion, are better). I wear them when working from home, like in the picture above, on walks and to the gym.

They wear comfortably throughout the day, don't feel restrictive or roll down when you sit, and very importantly, include a phone pocket.

I could keep going on about how good they are.

Elite Eleven 7/8 Aura SF Leggings

Love the colour of these. Image: Supplied.

These are another great option for shorties – very similar material to the LSKD leggings, and noticeably don't bunch or look funny in areas you don't want them to (you know where I mean).

I have the 7/8 Aura SF Leggings in Cloud Grey ($65), and wear them often on walks and when ducking out to do errands in slip-on sandals like these. Highly recommend.

Nimble Activewear High Rise 7/8 Legging II

Old piccie but I wear these often. Image: Supplied.

I haven't found another pair of leggings that feel quite like these. They slip on seamlessly and don't awkwardly cling anywhere.

If you're someone who finds some leggings a little tight on the tummy area, I highly recommend these. The material has a second-skin feel, thick waistband and I can happily wear them all day – great for the gym, too.

The ones I own are old season but also come in a brown and black pattern like these High Rise 7/8 Legging II in Tortoiseshell ($109).

Nike One Womens Capri Tights

You know how some parents secretly have a favourite child but wouldn't dare tell their others who it is? That's these Nike One Womens Capri Tights ($54.99) for me.

My most loved child – but worn in amongst my other pairs so they don't feel neglected.

I've spoken about these leggings (and also their bike shorts) too many times now, I KNOW. But there's a reason: they really are the best I've ever owned.

They're the perfect length – not too short, not too long – they don't roll up while exercising and they last through a gazillion washes. (That photo above was taken nearly a year and a half ago.)

They also don't constrict your tummy, which I know I've mentioned with the others, but it's important if you bloat.

Unlike most 7/8 pairs, which cut us shorties off right before our shoes, these leave a small gap between your ankle and shoes, something I've been told makes short people look taller.

And don't we all want that?
