Carrie Bickmore is hoping this birth isn't like her first one.

She’s a strong woman.

Carrie Bickmore’s due date is coming up quick, she is due to have her second baby in April this year.

But that’s not the date that Carrie is most concerned about. Of course she’s excited about her pregnancy and the birth of her second child but it is a 10-day post-birth milestone that is her biggest mental barrier.

The 34-year-old opened up to The Daily Telegraph about her tough experience after having her first baby, Oliver and how that has affected her mindset for baby number two.

Carrie and her bump.

The Project host admitted that she suffered from a really bad haemorrhage ten days after having Oliver, seven years ago and so that time frame has now become a mental barrier for her.

“I’m excited to meet this baby but I am not excited about the birth,” she told The Daily Telegraph.

“I wasn’t one of those women who put the baby on their chest and felt so happy and in love. I just wanted to vomit. I did vomit. Childbirth is hell."

There's no denying that Carrie loved her son from the moment she laid eyes on him, but she admits that she didn't get that instant rush that other mothers experience.

The birth, and then the haemorrhage means that Carrie is actually feeling more anxious about her second birth - because she knows what to expect this time.

She's slightly anxious but excited and looks absolutely stunning.

“I think I am more anxious. I will feel better once I get past the 10-day mark. It’s become a bit of a mental barrier," she told The Daily Telegraph.

The soon-to-be second time mum opened up about the struggles in her first birth, that were even tougher because her husband, Greg Lange was battling with brain cancer at the time and although he was sick, Greg had to care for their newborn while Carrie recovered.

The whole experience means that Carrie has some slight anxiety about her second birthing experience.

But overall Carrie, and her entire family (son, Oliver and partner, Chris Walker) are really excited about the arrival of their new family addition. Oliver has already named the baby Minecraft, if it's a boy, and Minnie, if it's a girl. Carrie says that she's had to make it very clear there is a 50/50 chance on the sex of the baby, but Oliver just can't wait for a friend to play with.

We know you'll do great Carrie and we wish you and your family all the best.

What have you been more nervous about doing the second time around?
