What's the one fight you have again and again in your household? 17 women weigh in.

Is there one fight you have time and time again with your partner, kids, or housemates at home? In our household, it is always about the kids' shoes and socks littering the living room floor. Why are they there... AGAIN?

Why does no one (apart from me) seem to want to put them away in the large shoe cupboard we have taking up space in the hallway? Whether this is a one-sided frustration or an ongoing battle, I realise I am certainly not alone with repetitive disagreements at home.

From dishes piling up at the sink (again) to the person that ALWAYS 'borrows' your clothes just when you want them, Mamamia heard from 17 other disgruntled people about that one fight they have on repeat in their household.

Here's what they had to say.

Watch: We share the silliest things we've ever had a fight about. Post continues below.

1. "My main issue or point of contention is constantly having to repeat myself to my kids (ages two and five) AND my husband. When I speak or ask anyone to do anything, it feels like I'm talking to myself and I have to ask or say it multiple times - and louder each time - before anyone will listen. It is frustrating to say the least." - Danielle.

2. "Ours is about ignoring stuff that is clearly in the wrong spot. I once left a water bottle that someone had left in the middle of the laundry floor (which we walk through every time we enter or leave the house) to see how long it would take to be thrown out. It was four-and-a-half weeks, and it was finally our cleaner who cracked and threw it in the bin." - Jean.

3. "Why, oh why, must my husband upend his pockets and leave all his sh*t on the kitchen bench?! Put it AWAY! This has been an argument for 18 years." - Katie.

4. "Stop leaving your clothes BY the hamper. Just put them IN the hamper." - Lisa.

5. "It's a pet fight. I want the dogs to be on their (very comfortable) beds. But the dogs want to basically be inside my skin!" - Diana.

6. "My husband can’t put away a bag of 'stuff'. You know, the random sock, a Bluey toy, a piece of Lego, a Tupperware container and an empty packet of chips. That kind of thing. Until they accumulate from the car or living room floor and we have piles of these bags everywhere. It drives me insane!" - Truan

7. "It's an adult sibling thing, but it's always been this way. We have an inability to give a mea culpa. Even when it's obvious who has crossed the line, the preferred way of dealing with any fallout or argument is the silent treatment for a few months then a return to 'norma' with no discussion, as if nothing happened." - Diya.

8. "Ours is sleep training. I’m against it, my partner is for it. It comes up with each sleep-stealing gremlin I birth (which is about to be three). We literally never fight. This is the only thing we disagree on. We are both great at compromising but I refuse to budge on this." - Michelle.

9. "Mine is with my three-and-a-half-year-old daughter and it’s always about her asking, 'Can I have a treat?' Even if she has already had one and/or hasn’t eaten her dinner!" - Harriet.

10. "Getting dressed every single day. My three-year-old wants to stay in pyjamas but he goes to daycare, so he needs to get dressed. His little sister has also started to get fussy about getting dressed. It’s a battle every morning, especially in winter as they hate jumpers." - Sandra.

11. "I regularly disagree with my Aunt (my mum's youngest sister who's close in age to me). We live together and she always wear my clothes without my permission! The worst thing is when it's the same time as I want to wear it, thus causing frequent big fights!" - Nina.

12. "Getting the kids into the bath, then getting them out of the bath. Getting the kids to bed, then getting them to stay in bed. Every day. On repeat." - Michelle F.

13. "My (partner) fight is about having the dog in the bed. I think she IS a bed dog. Luca says she is not. (She is)." - Jessie.

14. "Leaving dishes BY the dishwasher and not IN the dishwasher. I also don’t pack the dishwasher to my husband’s standards!" - Katie K.

15. "I have teens and I'm forever arguing about where the crockery and glasses are in the house. They are not in the cupboards or the dishwasher and I find them in their rooms. We are also forever buying cutlery because they lose it all the time. I don’t care about the mess in their rooms unless it migrates into the main parts of the house. I just shut their doors!" - Cathy.

16. "Dogs on the bed or lounge. They’re border collies and they shed so much hair! They walk in their own poo then jump onto the freshly washed sheets, and they drool everywhere. My husband loves having them on the bed but I find it disgusting." - Donna.

17. "With my kids, its messy bedrooms, not getting out of bed quickly in the mornings, shoes and bags just thrown in the entry and not put away, and clothes on the floor instead of in the laundry hamper." - Marie.
