Emma Stone won her first Golden Globe, and she knew just who to dedicate it to.

On Sunday night, Emma Stone won the Golden Globe for best performance by an actress in a motion picture, musical or comedy for her role in the highly acclaimed film La La Land. It was her first ever win at the ceremony, after two previous nominations.

When the 28-year-old took to the stage to accept the award, she thanked the Hollywood Foreign Press, her family and co-workers.

But ultimately, she dedicated her award to creative people who know the struggle of trying to achieve their dreams.

“This is a film for dreamers and I think that hope and creativity are two of the most important things in the world,” Stone said. “And that’s what this movie is about.”

“So to any creative person who has had a door slammed in their face, either metaphorically or physically, or actors who have had their auditions cut off, or waited for a callback that didn’t come, or anybody, anywhere really, that feels like giving up sometimes, but finds it in themselves to get up and keep moving forward, I share this with you.”

“Thank you so much for this. Thank you.”

To top off the ~feels~, Stone’s ex, Andrew Garfield, gave her a standing ovation at the end of her speech.

Stone’s win was one of seven for La La Land, which took out awards in every category it was nominated for. The musical, which also stars Ryan Gosling, now holds the record for the most Golden Globes won by a single film.
