Guess what the Spice Girls almost got called...

It’s a good thing they didn’t!

The Spice Girls. Gotta love ’em.

Where would 90s Brit Pop be without them? What would karaoke bars do without their groovy ‘Wannabe’ or their catchy ‘Say You’ll Be There’?

Where would ’90s fashion be without Geri Halliwell’s (Ginger Spice) Cool Britannia dress or Emma Bunton’s (Baby Spice) ridiculously high platform shoes? Where would Girl Power be?

But what if the Spice Girls were not the Spice Girls? Because for a mere moment…they weren’t going to be.

Are you sitting down?

Wait for it...

In a candid interview with Fern Mallis, the Executive Director of the CFDA, the Mirror reveals that Victoria Beckham a.k.a. Posh Spice says, “In the beginning, we were going to be the Spicy Girls, but then we realised there was a porn site called the Spicy Girls."

What a difference one letter makes!

Disaster averted. And the rest, as they say, is history. Pop history.

Of course, as soon as Beckham mentioned launching a kidswear range, the next question was if David Beckham and she were considering making her awesome foursome a quintet. Already a posh mum to Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper, her answer was a resounding NO.

"I've done my bit."

But tell me, can you blame the media for asking such questions? Posh and Becks DO make beautiful babies.

Instead, Victoria Beckham wants to give birth to another idea. She wants to concentrate her creative energies on expanding her fashion label. Her posh designs could soon be available for the entire family.

"I want to get into shoes, menswear and childrenswear, I believe in dreaming big and that's something I will continue to do."

We’ll keep you posted.
