…Can we just say, Hilary’s dress is everything?

Thankfully, the 32-year-old released a seven and a half minute video all about the Jenny Packham design via Vogue and we couldn’t have binge-watched it faster.

But first, a bit of background.

Here’s a sneak preview at what Hilary reveals to Vogue. Post continues after video.

Video via Vogue

This is Hilary’s second marriage. She was also married to Canadian NHL player Mike Comrie for four years until 2014. Their son Luca was born in 2012 and is now seven.

She has been with Matthew since 2017 and gave birth to their daughter Banks last year. They announced their engagement in May 2019.

Matthew, 32, posted the same picture alongside the caption: “I asked my best friend to marry me… @hilaryduff.”

The couple had in fact dated twice before and split for six months in their first year, with Hilary telling The Talk, “I think that you have history and a past with someone, and love – just because it doesn’t work out the first time, the second time, as long as there’s not too much damage done, then it can always work out again.”

In the Vogue video, Hilary tells the story of their engagement day – explaining that she was in New York and had just knocked off a long day of shooting. Matthew suggested they go for a walk – he’d found a new park he wanted to show her.

“We were walking through this park and it’s on the water and it’s gorgeous and all of a sudden he said ‘I’ve been working on something for you. You’re going to love it’,” she said.

He proposed with a book that he’d custom made about their love story – full of sketches and pictures and their story. On the last page, there was an orange shape that could be lifted up.

“We call each other orange, like ‘you are my half orange’,” explained Hilary.

Inside was a four-carat diamond ring.

"It was so sweet, it was really special and very simple which is very much how we are," she said, choking up.

JustJared.com were the first to announce the couple's nuptials, after hearing from "multiple sources" that the wedding took place on Saturday.

“It was a love-fest – a small and intimate ceremony at her house with friends and family,” a source told the site.

There were also clues over on Hilary's stylist's page. "Winter solstice...a day of luv," she posted alongside a flower bouquet.

“The ceremony started at sunset and they got married inside the house. When the ceremony was over, guests cheered. The reception was in a white tent in the backyard,” a source told People.

“Her sister Haylie was very involved in the wedding prep too. Hilary and Haylie are very close.”

Hilary confirmed the wedding last night, posting a night-time snap alongside her new husband.

"This," she captioned the photo.

"Honored to have been a witness of such an absolutely wonderful perfect incredible evening. You are everything, he is everything. Y’all are GOALS," hairstylist Riawna Capri posted.

The day after the wedding, Vogue posted an inside look into Hilary's gown which was a stretch crepe ivory Jenny Packham design.

The video follows the Younger actress on her final dress fitting with the London based designer. In the video, she explains that she considered "many many" designers before finally settling on Jenny, who she'd never worked with before.

Packham is one of Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge's favourite designers.

With a fishtail skirt, cape-like sleeves and strong shoulders, the gown had an open back and exactly 100 buttons that took it from the waist down to the floor.

"I want Hilary to feel how I think she wanted to feel in this dress from the direction we had which is very modern. It's quite a bold look...and more than anything I want Hilary to feel immensely confident," Jenny Packham told Vogue.

Hilary described feeling comfortable in the design and told Vogue it was "everything she dreamed of."

"The shoulders are so exciting to me. It has structure but it's clean and simple," she exclaimed. The last thing she wanted was "poofy and beaded" explaining that she was going more for gorgeous and "toned down."

Hilary chopped her hair even shorter for the day, so it would fit perfectly with her high neckline dress - keeping her hair back off her face with a $264 gold Jennifer Behr headpiece which was adorned with diamonds and pearls.

There was also a hidden little element on the inside of the dress that Hilary had added to make the gown that extra bit personal. On one side, in barely there thread you can see the initials 'M' and 'H' with their wedding date, and on the other side - the initials of her children.

"Maybe one day Banks will one day want to wear my dress," she told the camera.

Packham also made a little dress for Hilary's 14-month-old in a similar fabric, with a little velvet ribbon around the waist and a big bow on the back.

E! News reports the ceremony went for 20 minutes and was lit by candles. When it finished, the publication reports Hilary's son and the couple's daughter took to the mic where Luca "thanked everyone for being there and then yelled 'Party!'"

The DJ kept things classic with songs like Somewhere Beyond The Sea, Blue Velvet and Only The Lonely.

Dawes lead singer Taylor Goldsmith was there with wife Mandy Moore and also treated guests to an acoustic performance of A Little Bit Of Everything.

Hilary and Matthew both posted celebratory stories to their feeds showing an outfit change - Hilary is seen in a gold crop and skirt. (But we're not sure if it was part of their big day or not.)

Both Hilary and Matthew posted snaps like this on their Instagram stories.

Hilary also posted a photo of a serene, leafy pond which we can only guess was at the hotel where they spent their wedding night. But it was back to reality this week with Hilary showing her 14 million followers that she really is just like the rest of us.

In a recent post, her daughter Banks can be seen over the air-hole of a vacuum, enjoying the breeze blowing into her tiny face.

I guess even Hollywood actors have to think about vacuuming after hosting a party at home.
