After 6 years, Hollywood's most secretive couple Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx have split.

As a couple, Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx liked to keep us guessing. And they’re probably about to do the same with their breakup.

According to Page Six, the mysterious pair split after six years together – and it happened months ago.

An ‘entertainment’ source also confirmed this to PEOPLE.

Speculation ramped up after photos of Foxx, 51, partying in Los Angeles with singer Sela Vave emerged over the weekend.

Vave has shared many images featuring Foxx on her Instagram, though many publications have reported he is just helping her professionally.

Page Six confirmed Holmes and Foxx’s breakup news after a ‘spy’ (how does one get that gig?) informed the publication Holmes, 40, was overheard at fancy New York restaurant La Esquina saying they hadn’t been together for months.

Neither Holmes or Foxx has commented on the split rumours as yet, but since neither ever actually confirmed their relationship to begin with this comes as no surprise.

They were first linked in 2013, a year after Holmes divorced Tom Cruise, and were extremely private about their relationship with very few shots of them together.

Throughout the first few years of their relationship, there was a rampant rumour first reported by RadarOnline that Cruise had imposed a bizarre rule on Holmes during their quickie divorce settlement that meant she could not “embarrass” him in various ways, including by dating another man publicly for five years after the divorce.

Five years after Holmes’ divorce – and after years of denying their relationship – Holmes and Foxx were photographed walking hand-in-hand along a beach in Malibu.

But their first official public appearance wasn’t until Clive Davis’ Pre-Grammy Gala in January last year.

Then, over a year later, they showed up together at this year's Met Gala.

This isn't the first time rumours have circulated that the notoriously private couple have split, either.

In February on Oscars night, Foxx reportedly told guests he was performing to at Byron Allen’s Beverley Hilton Oscars celebration that he was "single".

"Right before he sang, he told the crowd he’s single," a guest told HollywoodLife.

He was also apparently "dancing with several girls on stage".

In June last year, whispers began to spread that the couple had broken up, but Holmes' publicist was quick to shoot the story down to People which at the time - given their usual secrecy - was very unusual.
