This is what a first wedding anniversary looks like if you're Jesinta and Buddy Franklin.

According to wedding anniversary tradition, the first year is celebrated with paper.

Some opt for leather bound diaries, letters, or books, but the Franklins – one half AFL football star, one half international model – do things differently, instead opting for a plane ticket to Thailand, and living it up in a villa so beautiful our tears are blurring our vision.

Jesinta and Buddy are staying at the luxury, award-winning Kata Rocks resort, which the very prestigious (or so I’m told) London awards and 2015 World Travel Awards listed as the ‘Best Apartment in the World’ and ‘Asia’s Leading Villa Resort’ respectively.

If that doesn’t really mean anything to you (don’t worry, same) each villa gets their own private infinity pool and prices start at $1050 a night…

Yep.

Listen: Why you need to take a babymoon stat. Here’s Bec Judd’s advice for going on a pre-baby holiday. (Post continues…)

What else does that get you, I hear you ask? Well… for a chill grand a night (at least), you get so many luxe amenities (goose down bedding, designer furniture etc.), panoramic ocean views of the Andaman Sea, a champagne check-in (see below), lots of in-villa spa treatments, and access to the resort’s ‘Rock Star’ personal concierges complete with luggage ‘unpacking services’.

Meaning that you will never have to leave your 175 square metre “living space”.

But, before you go crying into your sad, leftover salad, the couple are sharing their trip with the people/adoring Instagram fans and you too can kind of revel in the many pool-side recliners, and lush tropical fruit bowls that punctuate the stunning island sunsets.

It’s almost the same thing! absolutely nowhere near being the same thing.
