Come inside Kate Waterhouse's amazing baby shower.

Kate Waterhouse hosted a baby shower over the weekend with photos to prove the Waterhouse family sure know how to throw a party.

Fashion icon and writer Kate Waterhouse, 30, threw herself a lavish baby shower to celebrate the upcoming birth of her first child.

The shower took place on Sunday in the lead up to her due date in June. 25 of Kate’s closest friends attended the party as well as her legendary horse-training mother Gai, 59, and sister-in-law Hoda, 27 (married to Tom Waterhouse with their child Rose).

Kate told the Sydney Morning Herald, that she planned the party so that it would be a relaxed event with no nonsense games:

“There will be no Mars Bar spread in the nappy tricks! Just a lovely neutral theme.”

At 30 weeks pregnant, Kate and her husband, Luke Ricketson, are itching to put their parenting skills to the test:

“I’m excited to meet this little baby…I think the thing I am most looking forward to and am really excited for is just that bond.”

“It’s so unique. You know that unconditional love you see between a mother and a child? That’s what I think I’m looking forward to the most.”

Kate and Luke, who wed in 2012 in Sicily, don’t know the sex of their bub yet, so there were no signs of pink or blue dominating the colour scheme at the party, which featured plenty of baby-themed cakes and decorations.
