Kylie Jenner is being shamed for her Christmas tree. And please, where's your holiday spirit?

It’s December – and that means even the grinchiest among us will allow a bit of Christmas cheer, while others have licence to go all out with their celebration of the ‘most wonderful time of the year’.

And that’s no different for the Kardashian/Jenner klan, who tend to make a big deal of the 25th of December.

This year, Kylie Jenner has decided to make her daughter Stormi’s first Christmas as sparkly as possible with a gigantic, gold Christmas tree.

We mean, this is just… huge.

It was designed by the same creator of her mum Kris Jenner’s OTT trees, Jeff Leatham. (If you want to see some fabulously extravagant flower displays, hop on over to his Instagram.)

While most fans were in awe of the so-very-extra Christmas tree, a few attempted to shame Kylie for what is (perhaps inadvertently) an obvious display of her enormous wealth.

“Imagine how many families you could feed with the money used to buy the materialistic things for Christmas,” one commented.

“Might as well put a whole forest in your living room,” another said, while others tried to insist she should have decorated it herself.

And while they do have a point – Kylie’s tree probably cost thousands and thousands of dollars, which like all money, could be spent on other things – it’s one they could easily turn back on themselves.

Why not decorate your face too with Christmas eyebrows?

Because unless you observe a different holiday, practice a minimalist lifestyle, or ignore Christmas altogether, all of us spend an amount of money on Christmas that isn’t strictly necessary. And that’s okay.

Yes, Christmas is a time of generosity, kindness and love – and it’s important we don’t forget that. But it’s also a time of joy, and sharing that joy with loved ones.

Whether you spread that cheer with handmade jam and a tree made from gathered sticks, or a nine-metre golden pine (which to a billionaire is probably the dollar equivalent), you’re celebrating Christmas with the spirit of the day. And no one should have to apologise for that.
