But nine months on from the reunion, only one of the couples have managed to stay together. Well... until today.

In some very sad news, Lizzie and Seb - aka the last remaining MAFS 2020 couple - have decided t0 call it quits.

Here’s exactly what went down between all the couples from last season.

Aleks and Ivan

During last season of MAFS, Aleks and Ivan went from being a sure-fire disaster couple to our unexpected favourite.

Unfortunately, after the finale aired, Aleks and Ivan confirmed they had separated last February.

"Our values, wants, needs and lifestyles didn't align, and that's ok," Aleks wrote on Instagram.

"I wish him nothing but the best. Please respect my privacy on the matter as just like anyone out in the 'real' world, some relationships just don’t work out.

"My MAFS journey was one that I will never forget. I learnt so much about myself and what I truly want and need for myself and in a partner. I do not doubt that my soulmate is out there somewhere."

Stacey and Michael

Stacey and Michael’s relationship was rocky since the moment they got married.

Throughout the show, Stacey was left frustrated after Michael repeatedly returned to their apartment late at night after drinking. There was also, of course, the ~alleged~ cheating scandal between Michael and David’s wife, Hayley.

Michael later confirmed that things ended quickly between the pair at the hotel after the dinner party.

“I said we all make mistakes, what I can live with is, I can live with the truth but I can’t live with a lie. She continued to tell me that it never happened, I go there is too much doubt for me to continue in this catastrophe so let’s just have a hug and I’ll see you later," he told Chrissie, Sam & Browny in April last year.

“She goes ‘I don’t need to hug you’. I was like wow okay, you can be bitter we don’t need to be anything, whatever. At the end of the day, I should be one sort of stamping my feet and saying, ‘I’m the victim, I’m the victim.'”

Following their break up, Michael moved on with fellow contestant KC, who he confirmed he was dating after the finale in April.

But as is the way with most MAFS couples, the pair eventually called it quits.

In July, KC shared a statement on Instagram explaining that she was the one that ended the relationship. And despite hoping Michael "makes some changes", she wishes him all the best.

"It is with sadness that I have chosen to end my relationship with Michael. It's been almost five months and a relationship that I will always hold in my heart. Michael became my best friend and five months felt like a lifetime while isolating," she wrote at the time.

Mishel and Steve

Since getting married on MAFS, Steve and Mishel's relationship has seen a lot of drama.

From the fact that Steve cheated on his former partner to Steve's revelation that he didn't find Mishel attractive, things between the couple didn't seem great on the show.

Mishel later made her feelings about Steve clear during the final vows, where she called him out for stringing her along during the show.

She later told The Kyle And Jackie O Show that the pair were no longer in contact.

"We were talking for some time but we cut ties altogether. I think that it's more on my side. It didn't work out," said Mishel.

Connie and Jonethen

A lot changed between Connie and Jonethen throughout the experiment.

Although we initially thought the couple might have been the shining light of this season of Married At First Sight, things quickly took a turn and the couple eventually called it quits at their final vows.

In March, Jonethen told New Idea he was supposedly persuaded to stay in the experiment for longer than he intended to.

Although he apparently repeatedly expressed his desire to leave the show, Jonethen claimed that he chose to remain on the show after signing a new agreement with producers, who were "desperate" to keep him on the show due to the number of failing couples.

"I got the terms of my contract rewritten halfway through," Jonethen said, adding that the new terms meant he was able to visit his family in between filming.

KC and Drew

From the moment KC and Drew entered the experiment as intruders, it was clear that they weren't exactly compatible.

From arguments over Drew's roommate to that time KC threw out a bunch of Drew's belongings, it wasn't exactly smooth sailing.

The couple eventually decided to call time on their relationship after their final vows.

"We tried to take it in the outside world and it slowly crumbled," KC told 9Entertainment.

"I think it was just me being so keen to make it work. I would be like, 'Oh can I fly up [to Cairns] and see you?' and he was like, 'Not sure, I'll have to check my diary'... and I was like, 'Wow, I want a partner to be so excited by me', and he just wasn't."

Lizzie and Seb

Nine months on from the show, Lizzie and Seb have announced they are no longer together.

Lizzie shared the sad news on Instagram earlier today, alongside a photo of the couple.

"We have mutually decided to end our relationship as boyfriend and girlfriend. We want to thank everyone for the endless support we have received on our platforms. Please be kind and respectful," she began the post.

The 29-year-old asked her followers to be "kind and respectful", with the pair "both aware there will be countless rumours".

"We are aware you have followed parts of our journey, but please remember we are real people, and we are both navigating our way through this time to the best of our abilities."

"It is still fresh for us both, we just know there has been some curiosity as we have shared parts of our relationship online and we met on national television."

Lizzie added that her and Seb "are still involved in each other’s lives".

"We both have cherished each other and have grown together. We would like to send love and well wishes to all."

Seb shared the same message over on his Instagram.

The couples' plans to move in together were put on hold earlier this year due to COVID-19. At the time, the fan favourites chose to continue their relationship long-distance while Lizzie was isolating in her hometown of Newcastle and Seb was in Adelaide.

Here's wishing them both the best.
