MKR 2016's most talked about couple, and the show hasn't even started yet.

50-year-old Cheryl, a new contestant on this season of My Kitchen Rules has been referred to as a ‘cougar’, coming on the show with her 26-year-old boyfriend, Matt.

The Queensland couple said in a statement that they want to say to everyone age doesn’t matter.

“Why should a number make a difference about who you’re with, who you enjoy your time with and how you go through life. Society shouldn’t dictate that,” Cheryl said on Yahoo.

We couldn’t agree more.

The sales/marketing manager has also spoken about her incredible sex life – and we say it’s further proof that age is never an issue.

She opened up to NW Magazine about her boyfriend and their frisky life in the bedroom.

“He’s got loads of energy and the libido thing is switched on all the time, which is absolutely fabulous,” she told the publication.

The MKR contestant also said that the duo get frisky in the bedroom ‘two or three times a day’.

The couple have been dating for 18 months after Cheryl won over Matt with her chicken Caesar salad.

Matt opened up about the age gap in their relationship to Yahoo saying people shouldn’t judge others on their choices or have double standards.

“It might seem weird, but there’s 50-year-old men going out with 18-year-old women and that’s not frowned upon in society,” he said to the MKR site.

"What we’re doing is something that is showing that females have a right to do whatever they want and if we enjoy each other’s company, then it doesn’t matter," he continued.

Cheryl says that Matt is usually 'head chef' in the kitchen and says he has a real knack for making meals out of whatever's in the cupboard.

"When we’re 100 percent in sync we’re pretty good. I’m usually naked though!" Matt added on Yahoo.

The couple will appear on the seventh season of the reality cooking show along with 11 other teams. Pete Evans, Manu Feildel, Colin Fassnidge, Karen Martini, Guy Grossi and Liz Egan will all return to judge the show in 2016.

We can't wait to watch the cooking happen.
