'It was ­literally wham-bam between two friends.' The biggest revelations from Prince Harry's memoir, Spare.

There's a lot of talk going on about Prince Harry right now.

And no, it's not about his six-part Netflix documentary – that was last year's news. 

Earlier this month, the 38-year-old was making headlines as his memoir, Spare, leaked days ahead of its official release date.

The title of the memoir is a nod to the phrase 'The Heir and Spare', which has been used to describe Harry and his brother Prince William.

In a statement confirming the book in 2021, Harry said: "I've worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively, and my hope is that in telling my story – the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned – I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think.

"I'm deeply grateful for the opportunity to share what I've learned over the course of my life so far and excited for people to read a firsthand account of my life that's accurate and wholly truthful."

The entire book is already on shelves. 

Here are the key details we are taking away: 

1. At 17, Harry lost his virginity to an older woman behind a pub (and now we know who she is).

In his memoir, Harry details his experience of losing his virginity at 17 to an older woman, who treated him like a "young stallion".

"I mounted her quickly, after which she spanked my ass and sent me away," he wrote. "One of my many mistakes was letting it happen in a field, just behind a very busy pub. No doubt someone had seen us."

The woman, who has been revealed to be just two years older than the royal, has come forward following the release of his memoir. 

Sasha Walpole, aged 40, told UK publication The Sun she was the woman who had a "passionate" night with Prince Harry when they were teenagers. 

"I am the woman who took Harry’s virginity. It was ­literally wham-bam between two friends," she told the publication.

"The sex was passionate and sparky because we shouldn’t have been doing it. One thing just quickly led to another. We ended up on the floor."

The encounter happened behind the car park of the historic Vine Tree Inn in Norton, Wiltshire, in July 2001.

Harry was just 16 years old, a year younger than his autobiography claims. The pair knew each other from when she worked as a stable girl at Highgrove, the country retreat of King Charles.

And on her 19th birthday, the pair had sex. 

"We went outside and both climbed a three-bar fence to the field. We were quite drunk at this point," she recalled. "I gave Harry a cigarette. I lit mine and then his. We finished our cigarettes - Marlboro Lights - and it just happened. He started to kiss me... There was no chatting, no words."

She added, "It was exciting that it was happening. It was exciting that it was happening like the way it was. We were away for 15 minutes but the sex was about five ­minutes."

Sasha went on to say their encounter was not "premeditated" and the pair had been "purely friends".

"We didn’t set out to do it and it wasn’t premeditated. He was young. We had been purely friends and it was a little bit naughty, in the sense that it shouldn’t have been happening," she shared. "... It wasn’t Prince Harry to me. It was Harry, my friend - and something that got a little bit out of control. It just so happened that he was a prince."

Sasha said that at the time, she wasn't aware he was a virgin. 

"There were no virgin vibes from him, he seemed to know what he was doing," she explained. "I knew when thinking about it afterwards that he was a virgin."

She added their "moment of passion" wouldn't have happened if they weren't both drunk.

"... We were both drunk. It wouldn’t have happened if we weren’t. It was just a moment of passion - spontaneous, wild, exciting. Obviously I must have fancied him on some level, as he was sparky and up for a laugh," she said. "Afterwards there was the realisation, 'S**t. What are we doing?' Or, 'What have we done?'"

The pair didn't stay in contact. 

"Harry and I never texted or rang each other after that. I didn’t mind. I wasn’t embarrassed," Sasha recalled. "Was I disappointed he didn’t ring? No. It was circumstances we weren’t going out, we didn’t need to ring each other."

2. William 'knocked him to the floor' during a physical fight.

According to The Guardian, who obtained a copy of the book early, Harry details an "attack" between himself and his brother at his London home in 2019, in the book. 

During the confrontation, William reportedly called Meghan "difficult", "rude" and "abrasive", which Harry called a "parrot[ing of] the press narrative" about his wife.

Things later escalated, with Harry writing, "He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor."

"I landed on the dog's bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me. I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out."

The duke reportedly says the confrontation resulted in visible injury to his back, writing that Meghan later noticed "scrapes and bruises".

3. Harry drove through the tunnel where his mother died.

According to People, who had an exclusive excerpt from the memoir, Harry drove through the same tunnel where Princess Diana died 10 years earlier, when he was in Paris attending the 2007 Rugby World Cup semifinal.

23 years old at the time, Harry asked his driver if he knew the Pont de l'Alma tunnel where his mother died and requested they drive through at 65 miles per hour, the same speed her car was driving that fateful night in 1997.

"We came to the mouth of the tunnel. We zipped ahead, went over the lip at the tunnel's entrance, the bump that supposedly sent Mummy's Mercedes veering off course. But the lip was nothing. We barely felt it," Harry reportedly writes.

"I leaned forward, watched the light change to a kind of water orange, watched the concrete pillars flicker past. I counted them, counted my heartbeats, and in a few seconds we emerged from the other side."

"I sat back. Quietly I said: 'Is that all of it? It's… nothing. Just a straight tunnel.'"

"I'd always imagined the tunnel as some treacherous passageway, inherently dangerous, but it was just a short, simple, no-frills tunnel. No reason anyone should ever die inside it."

Harry then asked the driver to go through a second time, writing that he thought the experience would bring an end to the "decade of unrelenting pain".

"Instead, it brought on the start of Pain, Part Deux."

4. Charles apparently made jokes about not being Harry's "real father".

Harry said another point of contention between him and his father was the fact King Charles would poke fun at the rumours that Harry was actually the product of an affair Princess Diana had.

"Pa liked telling stories, and this was one of the best in his repertoire. He'd always end with a burst of philosophising… 'Who knows if I'm really the Prince of Wales? Who knows if I'm even your real father?'" Harry writes in an excerpt published by Page Six. 

"He'd laugh and laugh, though it was a remarkably unfunny joke, given the rumour circulating just then that my actual father was one of Mummy's former lovers: Major James Hewitt. One cause of this rumour was Major Hewitt's flaming ginger hair, but another cause was sadism."

5. Harry felt his brother was "gone forever" when he married Kate.

According to US Weekly, Harry reflected on his brother's 2011 wedding to Kate in the memoir, sharing it felt like "yet another farewell." 

"The brother I'd escorted into Westminster Abbey that morning was gone — forever," he reportedly writes.

"Who could deny it? He'd never again be first and foremost Willy. We'd never again ride together across the Lesotho countryside with capes blowing behind us. We'd never again share a horsey-smelling cottage while learning to fly. Who shall separate us? Life, that's who."

"And I recall Willy walking her back up the aisle, and as they disappeared through the door, into the carriage that would convey them to Buckingham Palace, into the eternal partnership they'd pledged, I recall thinking: 'Goodbye.'"

6. Harry said he wasn't asked to give the best man's speech at his brother's wedding, which upset him.

Another point of contention at the royal wedding was that Harry felt left out of the big day - saying the reports he was an official best man was a "barefaced lie".

As per news.com.au, Harry claims his brother did not want him to give a speech when he married Kate.

"Willy didn't want me giving a best man's speech."

Instead, Harry says his only major role was to introduce William's friends who actually gave the fateful speech.

7. William and Kate apparently urged Harry to wear his infamous Nazi costume.

Harry has also written about the infamous 2005 Nazi costume scandal, alleging that William and Kate encouraged him to wear it.

According to Page Six, before the costume party which had a "native and colonial" theme, Harry, then 20, was tossing up between a pilot uniform and Nazi uniform.

"I phoned Willy and Kate, asked what they thought. 'Nazi uniform', they said, Harry reportedly writes, adding that he later tried the costume on for them.

"They both howled. Worse than Willy's leotard outfit! Way more ridiculous! Which, again, was the point."

8. Harry considers William both his "beloved brother" and "arch-nemesis".

According to Good Morning America host Michael Strahan, who sits down with Harry in an interview airing on Monday, the 38-year-old refers to William as both his "beloved brother" and his "arch-nemesis" in the book.

"Strong words. What did you mean by that?" Strahan asks in a preview of the interview shared on social media. 

"There has always been this competition between us, weirdly," says Harry. "I think it really plays into, or was played by, the 'heir/spare'."

9. Harry and William initially urged Charles not to marry Camilla.

In one section of the memoir, Harry writes about King Charles' marriage to Camilla, the now-Queen Consort, sharing he and William asked his father not to tie the knot with Charles' mistress. 

"Despite Willy and me urging him not to, Pa was going ahead. We pumped his hand, wished him well. No hard feelings," he reportedly writes, according to Page Six. 

"We recognised that he was finally going to be with the woman he loved, the woman he'd always loved."

"Fate might’ve intended for him in the first place. Whatever bitterness or sorrow we felt over the closing of another loop in Mummy’s story, we understood that it was besides the point."

According to the publication, Harry also remembers wondering "if she would be cruel to me; if she would be like all the evil stepmothers in the stories".

"Willy had been suspicious of the Other Woman for a long time, which confused and tormented him. When those suspicions were confirmed, he felt agonizing remorse for not having done or said anything before." 

10. Harry killed 25 people in Afghanistan.

Harry has also opened up about his 10-year military career, which saw him deployed to Afghanistan twice. 

According to The Telegraph, Harry says he flew on six missions which resulted in "the taking of human lives", writing that he thought of the people killed as "chess pieces" that had to be taken off the board. 

He also reportedly saw them as "baddies eliminated before they could kill goodies".

"My number is 25. It's not a number that fills me with satisfaction, but nor does it embarrass me."

11. Harry watched Suits sex scenes when he started dating Meghan. 

Opening up about his early days with Meghan, a former actress on the TV series Suits, Harry reportedly writes that he made "the mistake of Googling and watching some of her love scenes online".

"I'd witnessed her and a castmate mauling each other in some sort of office or conference room," he writes according to Page Six. 

"I didn't need to see such things live."

He also shared that William allegedly told his younger brother to "f*** off" when he told him about his romance with Meghan.

"I was baffled, until Willy and Kate explained that they were regular — nay, religious — viewers of Suits," he wrote.  

"All this time I'd thought Willy and Kate might not welcome Meg into the family, but now I had to worry about them hounding her for an autograph."

12. Meghan told William to "take your finger out of my face" after a comment by Meghan saying Kate had "baby-brain".

According to the Daily Mail, Harry writes about a moment where Meghan had insulted Kate by telling her she had "baby-brain because of her hormones" following issues around flower girl dresses.

William then reportedly called Meghan "rude" to her face and "pointed a finger at her", saying, "these things are not done here".

In response, Meghan told William, "If you don't mind, keep your finger out of my face."

Defending his wife, Harry wrote, "Meg said that she had never intentionally done anything to offend Kate and that if she had, she begged her to let her know so she could avoid a reoccurrence."

13. Harry shares details about his... penis.

Harry reportedly gets very honest about his penis in the book.

According to the Herald Sun, the 38-year-old shuts down rumours that he and William are uncircumcised, writing, "My penis was a matter of public record, and indeed some public curiosity."

"The press had written about it extensively. There were countless stories in books, and papers (even The New York Times) about Willy and me not being circumcised."

"Mummy had forbidden it, they all said, and while it’s absolutely true that the chance of getting penile frostbite is much greater if you’re not circumcised, all the stories were false. I was snipped as a baby."

He also discusses how his penis was "frostnipped" during his trip to Antarctica before William and Kate's wedding. 

"Pa was very interested and sympathetic about the discomfort of my frostnipped ears and cheeks, and it was an effort not to overshare and tell him also about my equally tender penis."

14. Harry says he found out the Queen had died via the media.

Back in September 2022, Queen Elizabeth passed away aged 96. Harry says he knew his grandmother's health was declining, with his father calling him to share the news.

As Harry was arriving via plane to the UK, he recalls receiving the news on his phone from a media report.

"When the plane started to descend I saw that my phone lit up. It was a message from Meg: 'Call me when you get this'," he writes. "I looked at the BBC website. My grandmother had died. My father was King."
