@*j m* this seems to be one of the most salient pieces of information for the year 2024. Gender is not sex. Gender is a psychosocial construct (that can indeed change on whim as it is not a tangible thing to begin with) whereas biological sex is a biological/scientific (and mostly immutable). Nobody will be able to communicate about anything regarding gender or trans issues until they understand this difference between gender and sex.

@higgy I get your point and agree it’s an important issue. But I think this minister definitely handled it the wrong way. King Charles himself isn’t responsible for the atrocities the commonwealth has inflicted upon indigenous people. He didn’t deserve to be abused like that. Especially in such a vulnerable state of health too.

I’ve never understood people wanting to be remembered.
I’m pretty sure I’m a builder. But I always build to connect and show solidarity, but didn’t know some people see it as rude. I have ASD and social etiquette/communication rules have always been a struggle for me. Relating to people with shared experiences is one of my only social skills. I know many other autistic people also rely on this technique to connect with others. It’s a bummer that it sometimes doesn’t translate well in autistic-on-allistic interactions.

@anonymous I totally agree. Capitalistic greed and the institutionalised corruption that allows for this to spiral out of control. The “lucky country”… maybe lucky for some..
