Thanks for sharing this.  My mum, born in the U.K. thought it would be more 'cultural' to bring something from my dad's country, Norway. Unfortunately, he was overseas and not there to stop her sending me to school with a packet of crackers and an unopened can of fish from Iceland someone had given him. Never mind it was from the wrong country -  it was rotting shark. It famously stinks. My teacher opened it and we couldn't use the classroom for the rest of the day. I can still see one of my friends dry retching....
