I think it just depends on your situation and area. When I was a kid we went from living in an apartment in a town where most kids lived in houses to living in a house with a backyard (yay!) to living back in an apartment in another area where most kids lived in houses. I could never really have playdates because it would be too noisy and there was nothing to do since we couldn't go outside, so I always went to the other kid's house. I'm someone who thrives outside doing physical activity so not being able to go outside was actually really terrible for my mental and physical health and most adults would have described me as a bit chubby during that time. Other kids noticed my lack of a house as well and how my family must be poor. Definitely not what I'd choose for my kids.

The journalist is displaying peak mean girl behaviour, sitting on these interviews for years and waiting til someone is trending for some reason to release them. Anne did absolutely nothing wrong and has likely only apologised because she was so traumatized by the swathe of hathahate she got back in the day and doesn't want to relive that. Plus the reporter is now liking all the mean comments people post about Anne on her videos, even though she's apologised.

I wish my Mum had given me her surname. She almost died giving birth to me, requiring two blood transfusions, only for my bio father to disappear into the night when I was 10 months old. He was in and out of our lives and they eventually divorced by the time I was 3.5. By 4 I was using my Mum's name at school and socially, to me it didn't make sense to have a different last name to hers. Dad and his family pushed back 'what's the point anyway? You'll just change it when you get married' (nope, kept my name thanks). Legally changed it the day I turned 18 (I couldn't get my father's approval before then and at 18 he had no say). Best birthday gift I've ever had.
