I am absolutely heartbroken for the women who have already survived the nightmare of breast cancer, only to face the sad reality of having to turn to GoFundMe for reconstruction surgery. This is not cosmetic – it’s a fundamental part of healing, mentally and physically. How dare the healthcare system fail these women at such a vulnerable time? It is beyond infuriating that, after enduring surgeries, chemo, and radiation, they are left begging for financial help to rebuild their bodies. This should be a basic right, covered by our healthcare system, not a luxury reserved for those who can afford it. The fact that women are forced to crowdfund their way to recovery is an absolute disgrace.
