"It definitely was exaggerated." The Bachelor's Sogand and Abbie drama was not all it seemed to be.

The Bachelor‘s Sogand started the season as a favourite, being picked by Bachie Matt for the first single date – and sealing it with a rose, and a kiss.

But following that, we didn’t see the pair interact much, with Sogand instead focusing probably a little too much on what fellow bachelorette Abbie was up to.

Like how Abbie wasn’t there for the right reasons, was a liar, put on an act with Matt, saw the show as a competition she wanted to win and, well, you get the picture.

Mamamia met Bachelor Matt Agnew and asked him some very important questions. Post continues after video.

So, after being questioned by Matt as to why she hadn’t ‘shown initiative’ to build on their connection, he sent her home.

Speaking to Mamamia, Sogand said the drama between her and Abbie was shown to be more than it was, with the episodes conveniently leaving out the times they weren’t at odds.

“It definitely was exaggerated on the show,” she said. “It was all that made it on the show, but we definitely had some good times. We worked it out. If there was ever a drama we talked about it and moved on. I guess the story line was more focused on the drama, so unfortunately that’s all that made it to air.”

Even so, she reiterated that Abbie acted differently off camera than she did when she was with Matt – and she put that down to Abbie seeing The Bachelor as a competition she wanted to win, rather than a chance to find someone to be with – but as she said, “the truth always comes out, right?”

Sogand said that watching her edit on the show was difficult and she regretted being so focused on the drama.

“If I could do it again, I’d probably hold back a little and not get involved as much. But I know I’m me and I’m not the type to pretend I’m something that I’m not. It was hard for me to watch because even if I didn’t end up with Matt, I wanted him to end up with someone who was being truthful, and I think that’s where the problem came from.”

Since leaving the house, Sogand said she has maintained friendships she made on the show and enjoyed being around family, friends and “people that you love to be around rather than people you’re forced to be around”.

At the beginning of the season, there was a bachelorette group chat where they could all debrief after an episode, but now that we’re getting to the pointy end of the season “no one has much to say”, meaning that’s sort of… died.

As for who will win, Sogand is hoping it’s Elly or – predictably – Chelsie, the clear favourite of all the eliminated bachelorettes, SportsBet, you, me, ScoMo, the Queen, etc.

Or, uh, anyone but Abbie.
