Why do some straight men have sex with other men? It’s a subject that’s always fascinated people and a couple of researchers might finally have some answers for us.
Héctor Carrillo and Amanda Hoffman from Northwestern University, recently spoke to 100 men who identified as straight but sought out casual sex with men online, and they published their findings in the journal Sexualities.
Carrillo and Hoffman found that straight men who slept with other men believe that they are primarily attracted to women. In fact, they believe that they have no sexual attraction to men at all, as they define sexual attraction as a combination of physical and emotional attraction.
And when it comes to other men, they just want to have sex with them.

Straight men by definition do not have sex with men, identifying as straight while looking for gay hook-ups is like identifying as non-smoker while smoking cigarettes. If you are into sex with men and women then you're bisexual, period. Just admit it; stop twisting yourself into a pretzel and giving logic bad name in the process.
Couldn't agree more, Andrew. I've been happily married for more than 30 years (with 3 kids), and never even thought about being with another man (even though I've had countless offers from a gay neighbour). According to this same neighbour, all straight guys are potentially bi. I'd rather be celibate than fool around with another guy.
What about people who once a year go out to a night club and steal a ciggie off a mate, but have never bought a packet in their life and don't smoke otherwise. Are they smokers?
The social stigma for some men who are sexually fluid, can make them deny a same sex attraction. Straight is sometimes a bisexual illusion. Like two men looking at railroad tracts that meet on the horizon. In their mind is where these sexual commuters meet.
