Prince George is one next week, and this is how he's celebrating.

How does a royal celebrate their 1st birthday? Like this.

Prince George turns 1 on Tuesday (22 July 2014). And while his Hollywood ‘royal’ counterpart, North West, celebrated her first birthday with a mini-musical festival, Prince George is a little more understated in his partying ways.

According to Now Magazineour favourite chubby-cheeks will be enjoying tea and cake at home in Kensington Palace. Royal biographer Marcia Moody said, “If the christening was anything to go by, it will be a small, low-key celebration, similar to what their friends would throw for their children’s first birthdays.”

As for the cake, Kate’s brother, James will most likely be the one making it. He runs Nice Cakes so we know it won’t be one of those in-a-packet-cakes.

As for presents, Marcia says “I’m sure he’ll receive some traditional luxury children’s items – a rocking horse or a silver tooth fairy box. But William and Kate would favour personal items like a scrapbook of his first year, with hospital tags and a lock of hair.”

And if you are wondering how many more toys can little George have after the haul Australia and New Zealand gave him during the royal tour, don’t worry. He has two nurseries to fill (his second home is in Anmer Hall in Norfolk which is currently getting renovated).

While George’s favourite animal is the wombat (Kate revealed while on tour in Australia), the couple have encouraged the public to make donations to charity instead of squeezing another toy into George’s nurseries.

In case you lost your invite to the party (we seem to have), we have headed to The Cake Kit Company (James’ other company) to see what kind of cake he will be making for little George.

The rumour mill is losing its mind over Kate & Wills’ “Aussie” baby.

Yes, it’s a bit creepy, but this is what Prince George will look like in 17 years.
