There was something unmistakably different about tonight’s episode of The Project: Carrie Bickmore has left her golden locks behind to embrace the deep shades of chocolate brown.
The popular host appeared on tonight’s episode with a brand new hair colour that looked straight out of a shampoo commercial.
And that comparison wouldn’t be too far from the truth.
The change was cryptically hinted at on Bickmore’s Instagram account just minutes before it debuted.

My sister has a theory that everyone looks good blonde, only the truly beautiful look good brunette.
I think she looks fabulous!
Interesting because I was naturally blonde then dyed it quite blonde for years, but always secretly loved brown hair but thought I couldn't carry brown hair off, but eventually got up the courage to dye it brown, similar shade to what Carrie now has. Then just recently I dyed it back to blonde again but mid type blonde, everyone tells me it suits me much better, that my skin tone didn't really suit brown, and now I see Carrie I think I realise they are right. It is a beautiful shade of brown but I think her skin tone is similar to me and it suits the lighter shades a bit better, if she wants to mix it up and not go for blonde blonde again maybe she should try a caramel or lighter brown or dark blonde or even a strawberry blonde rather than a dark brown, or if she is going to stay with brown then maybe put some highlights in it so the colour doesn't look quite so flat. I'm not saying that any of those colours I have suggested are going to be right for her, I'm just thinking that if she is bored with blonde blonde then maybe she could try deeper shades but not go for such a dark colour. I ended up just asking the hairdresser to pick a colour he thought would suit me, bit of a risk, and usually I am a control freak re these things, but as it turns out everyone agrees that the colour he picked is right. Still kind of miss being a brunette, because I adore that exact shade that Carrie has but I realise it just doesn't suit me, and I think it is not quite right on Carrie either.
my friend did a similar thing, and the brown looked nice, made her look more serious and mature, but also, boring! she changed back in about 2 weeks.
