‘Coconut water-infused skincare was everything I didn't expect. Here's my honest review.’

As someone who often describes their skin as a desert, I’m always on the hunt for that dewy skin glow.

This means that when it comes to formulas promising hydration, I have tried more than my fair share. What I always seem to struggle with is giving my skin that deep moisture it craves without having to layer on product after product.

Summer in particular can be tricky to navigate with dry skin and my normal routine doesn’t always fit the brief. My usual oils or creams can be too heavy on the skin, especially on the more sweat-inducing days.

This clogged pore feeling often means I’m reaching for a more thorough cleanse to help wash off the day – which can leave my skin feeling dry and uncomfortable.

It can end up being a hard cycle to break and it’s always my skin that loses out.

So, I decided to switch it up and try a new routine that focuses on giving me that dewy skin without all the complications.

For the last two weeks I’ve been trialling the new Hydrate & Glow skincare range from Biorè and *spoiler alert* I am super impressed.

It’s an exciting new launch from the brand with a focus on providing hydration and nourishment to dry or even flaky skin (yes please!). I’m absolutely an ingredient girlie, so my first stop was the back of the bottle to see just what the formula looks like.

To my surprise, one of the core ingredients was coconut water – I didn’t even know you could put that in skincare! I mean sure, I’ve drunk it before and it was super refreshing and hydrating as a drink, but would it be the same on my skin?

I did a little digging to find out just what it could bring to the skin and turns out that applying skincare that contains coconut water is kind of like giving your skin a big drink.

It’s a natural hydrator that gives back to the skin without adding excess oil in the process – in other words, you’re packing a punch without clogging pores.

They’ve also included prebiotics throughout the range to help provide that balance and nourishment for the skin’s microbiome. Of course, the range is also dermatologist tested and cruelty-free, so you have peace of mind on that front.

All of this was a big yes to me, so let’s get into how I went with each of the products during my trial.

Cleanser

I am very particular when it comes to the cleanser I use – I like that clean feeling but don’t like my skin feeling stripped or dried out. The Hydrate & Glow Cleanser slotted in perfectly as my second cleanse after makeup removal and really, really impressed me.

It starts off as a gel-like texture but works into a gentle, creamy lather that makes cleansing feel effortless. I particularly enjoyed using it in the morning on my post-workout sweaty skin – it is such an easy way to refresh and replenish my skin for the day ahead.

Bonus points for being fragrance and SLS/SLES free, as those ingredients can strip the skin during the cleansing process or cause unwanted irritation.

Serum

The Hydrate & Glow Serum was a real standout to me, which is saying a lot considering the number of hydrating serums I have tested in my time.

It was the step I found myself looking forward to the most, and I even started using it to help hydrate some dry patches I had on my chest.

The formula also includes the hydrating powerhouse that is hyaluronic acid, so it’s really doing the most for your skin.

Moisturiser

When I started using the Hydrate & Glow Moisturiser, I thought it might be too lightweight to deliver on hydration but I was very wrong.

Typically, my moisturiser motto is 'thicker is better' but this one still ticked all the boxes for me.

In addition to the coconut water and prebiotics found through the range, the moisturiser also features avocado oil, known for being rich in omegas and antioxidants.

It sank in beautifully after each application, so it was a breeze to use under my SPF or foundation of choice for the day. It also still packed enough of a punch to use as the final step in my evening routine and hydrate my skin overnight.

Final thoughts

I honestly did not expect to be so impressed by such a simple routine or one that centred on an ingredient that I was a little doubtful of. The combination of using the cleanser and serum was such a standout to me but I also loved how my skin drank up the moisturiser.

I think the after photos really speak for themselves, as you can see that natural hydration and glow coming through.

All three of these products have earned a place in my routine and I can already see these will be a must re-purchase.
