'I forgot my underwear.' All the wildest moments from the 2024 Grammys, a truly chaotic show.

Above everything this year, the 2024 Grammy Awards were a show for the girlies!

Women dominated all the big award categories with the likes of Miley Cyrus, Victoria Monet, Taylor Swift, SZA, Olivia Rodrigo, and Billie Eilish stacking up loads of nominations. Women also won all the major awards on the night.

This was a welcome departure from last year's awards which controversially awarded Harry Styles the Album of The Year gong over the likes of Beyoncé and Lizzo.

Before the awards even kicked off, Australia had something to celebrate with our Kylie Minogue winning Best Pop Dance Recording for her anthemic 'Padam Padam'.

But the Grammys are more than just awards with powerful performances by Eilish, Rodrigo, Dua Lipa, Luke Combs, Travis Scott, Billy Joel and Joni Mitchell lighting up the Crypto.com Arena stage in Los Angeles.

The Grammys was hosted by comedian Trevor Noah, marking his fourth consecutive time hosting the ceremony. Thankfully, The Daily Show host was in fine form avoiding any awkward Golden Globes flashbacks.

It was a fun night! From Taylor dropping a new album to Jay-Z calling out the awards for their historic snubbing of his wife Beyoncé, this is all the chaos that unfolded at the 2024 Grammys.

Miley Cyrus' hair was really... something!

Miley Cyrus dazzled in a stunning gold number but her hair was truly unhinged in the best way. It's unclear if this was a nod to '80s rock or what the inspo was, but she did Bridget Jones proud.

Rapper Killer Mike was reportedly arrested at the ceremony.

Taylor Swift made it a black-and-white affair.

The Swifties were gagging for their Mother rocking up in a white gown paired with black gloves and a gothic choker. Swift reportedly wore a tiny clock pointed to midnight around her neck, which fans have speculated could indicate the time Taylor plans to drop a new release (more on that later).

Meryl Streep gatecrashed Trevor Noah's opening monologue.

As Trevor Noah began his monologue, he noted that a very famous actress would be seated in the crowd. “Mark Ronson, one of the greatest producers of all time — and, get this, his mother-in-law is going to be sitting right here.”

For the unfamiliar (me!) he is talking about Meryl Streep. But then she appeared!

“What? You thought I was lying?” he continued. “Do you know what that means? This Grammys is gonna win an Oscar. I don’t know how, but we just did it. I’d like to thank both academies!”

The rest of the monologue was the opposite of a celebrity roast.

Unlike the previous award shows this season, Noah didn't roast or dunk on any celebrities. Instead, he praised them. He gave a special shout-out to Doja Cat, Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo before he started praising Taylor Swift as she walked into the ceremony.

“I say the names, and they pop out,” he joked. “Taylor Swift, everybody!"

Noah then shared some kind words about Swift. "As Taylor Swift moves around the room, the local economy around her improves. Look at that. Lionel Richie? Now Lionel Wealthy!”

He then defended her to NFL fans sick of the pop star dominating the games she appears at to support her boyfriend, Travis Kelce. “By the way, I think it’s so unfair how NFL fans have been complaining about the cameras cutting to Taylor Swift,” Noah said.

“Like she’s controlling the cameras at the games? Let her live. In fact, on behalf of Taylor, I’m going to give her a break. Every time Taylor Swift is mentioned, I’m going to cut to someone who played football. That’s what I will do.”

The host then cut to an unassuming Terry Crews. It was a delightful monologue.

Miley Cyrus gave a chaotic speech to a confused Mariah Carey.

Mariah Carey doesn't know her! Image: Seven.

The award for Best Pop Solo Performance was chaos. Beginning with Mariah Carey's dog-whistle-singing the word 'women' while presenting and ending with winner Miley Cyrus giving a rambling speech.

“There’s a story I wanna tell that sums up this moment, and I wasn’t gonna tell it but now Mariah’s here. So there was a little boy that all he wanted for his birthday was a butterfly. And so his parents gave him a butterfly net, and he was so excited," Cyrus curiously shared.

"He just went outside out in the sun and started swinging and swinging. But with no luck, he sat down on the ground, he finally let go, and he surrendered, and he was okay that he wasn’t gonna capture this beautiful butterfly. And right when he did is when the butterfly came and landed right on the tip of his nose. And this song ‘Flowers’ is my butterfly. Thank you.”

I didn't know where she was going with it (and neither did Carey, clearly) but she got to her point in the end.

Luke Combs played 'Fast Car' with THE Tracey Chapman.

CHILLS.

Country singer Luke Combs performed his popular cover of Tracey Chapman's 'Fast Car' with the iconic 59-year-old who made the song a classic. The performance was incredible.

Chapman received a standing O. I'm not crying, you are!

Billie Eilish dressed as a very Billie Eilish kind of Barbie.

Billie Eilish gave a gorgeous orchestral rendition of 'What Was I Made For' while dressed as a rather niche vintage Barbie. Eilish wore a silk pink headscarf and a checkered green coat as Poodle Parade Barbie from 1965.

Miley Cyrus gave a performance for the history books.

Miley Cyrus gave a memorable performance of 'Flowers' beginning the song by shouting at the crowd "Why are you acting like you don't know this song?"

She then busted out some wacky dance moves and screamed 'I just won a Grammy!' before adding some extra lyrics.

When she sang 'I didn't want to leave you,' she quipped 'but I had to' and then when she crooned 'I didn't want to fight', and added 'But we did!' Big ol' yikes for a song rumoured to be about her marriage breakdown between herself and Liam Hemsworth.

Cyrus went on to win Record of the Year for 'Flowers' where she finished her speech by saying, "I don't think I forgot anyone but I forgot my underwear." Lol. Icon behaviour.

SZA and Lizzo shared a wholesome moment.

SZA won for Best R&B Song with the award given out by her longtime friend Lizzo. She rolled in a little late and ran right up to Lizzo for a lengthy hug. SZA cleaned up at the Grammys, winning three awards.

Olivia Rodrigo got bloody as Taylor Swift cheered her on.

There's no bad blood between Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift, who sang along to 'Vampire', but there was... blood. Rodrigo gave a gory performance with fake blood covering her arms and face.

Taylor gave her a standing ovation, perhaps signaling the end of their rumoured beef.

Taylor Swift used her first winner's speech to announce a new album.

Taylor Swift did what Taylor Swift does best: sent her fans into a fit of hysteria.

While accepting the award for Best Pop Vocal Album, she announced she was releasing a new album (yes, NEW!) titled The Tortured Poets Department on April 19.

"I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I have been keeping from you for the last two years, which is that my brand-new album comes out April 19th," Swift said in her speech.

"I’m going to go and post the cover right now backstage. Thank you, I love you!"

Annie Lennox called for a 'ceasefire' at the end of her Sinead O'Connor tribute.

Annie Lennox performed Sinead's 'Nothing Compares' and ended the tribute by yelling “artists for ceasefire” referring to the ongoing Israel-Gaza conflict.

O'Connor was known for being a vocal political advocate for Palestinian rights before her death in 2023.

Jay-Z called out the fact his wife Beyonce has historically been robbed by the Grammys.

From the moment Jay-Z told the audience "You don’t gotta clap for everything,” it was clear we were in for quite the rogue speech - but the man made solid points.

As Jay-Z accepted the Dr. Dre Global Impact award, he couldn't help but call out the Grammys for snubbing his wife Beyoncé, who controversially missed out on Album of the Year last year and in 2017 for Lemonade

“I don’t want to embarrass this young lady, but she has more Grammys than anyone, number one album of the year. So even by that own metric it does not work. Think about that, most Grammys, never won album of the year, that does not work," he said, as Beyonce nervously smiled.

“When I get nervous, I tell the truth," he added.

The music icon didn't hold back, at one stage saying “Some of you don’t even belong in a category.” Oop!

Joni Mitchell made us all sob with her first Grammys performance.

In her first-ever Grammys performance at the age of 80, Joni Mitchell sang her transcendent song 'Both Sides Now' and there wasn't a dry eye in the house.

Mitchell suffered a brain aneurysm in 2015 and has been doing rehabilitation therapy in the years since.

Taylor Swift made history by winning the big one: Album Of The Year.

Celine Dion gave out the award for AOTY to Taylor Swift, which makes her the first person to win the honour four times.
