The night Kieran Culkin met Jazz Charton, he asked to be her boyfriend.

There's one couple in particular everyone became obsessed with at the 2023 Emmy Awards: Kieran Culkin and Jazz Charton.

On Tuesday, during the Succession actor's speech after winning an Emmy for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series, he thanked his co-stars and creators, his mother, manager — and his wife.

"My beautiful wife, Jazz," he said.

"Thank you for sharing your life with me and giving me two amazing kids, Kinsey Sioux and Wilder Wolf. I love you so many and so much.

"And Jazz, I want more [children]... You said! You said 'Maybe' if I win! I love you so much."

Culkin and Charton met at a bar in 2012. However, she was with someone else.

In true Culkin fashion, he waited until the guy she was with to go to the bathroom and then slid in right next to her.

"I asked if he was her boyfriend, and when she said, 'No,'" the actor recalled to iNews in 2018. "I asked if I could be her boyfriend. We've been together ever since."

Charton had only been in New York City for two years when they met and was working in the music department of an ad agency. Originally from London, her accent was what seemed to draw the Succession star to her.

"I said, 'I'm Kieran. You have an English accent. What's your name?'" Culkin told The Hollywood Reporter

"She said, 'Jazz.' I said, 'J-A-Z-Z, like the music?' And she said, 'Yeah.' And I said, 'Well, that's f**king stupid.'"

As the pair gear up to celebrate 14 years together in June, they've managed to keep their relationship largely out of the limelight — but it hasn't stopped fans from wondering about their family life together.

While Charton doesn't have very much of a public profile (except for a public Instagram page we are very grateful for), we do know she was brought up by her single mum, Corinne "Coco" Charton, a former model and artist.

Coco often shares glimpses into her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren's lives. She even takes credit for helping Charton and Culkin meet.

In one Instagram post, she wrote it was she who convinced her daughter to move to New York City.

The pair eloped in 2013 during a private ceremony while on a road trip in Iowa.

"[Throwback] to taking time out of road trip to get married by the side of the road in Iowa during a storm four years ago today," Charton wrote in 2017.

"Still the best pit stop I've ever made."

In 2020, she shared another photo from their wedding day.

"7 years ago we went on what was supposed to be a 6-week road trip but ended up taking 3 1/2 months. 7 years ago we fell in love with Iowa. 7 years ago we met a girl named Kinsey who helped us get our marriage license and 7 years ago today we said I do in the rain with 3 strangers (sic)."

Six years after tying the knot, on September 13, 2019, the pair had their first child together; daughter, Kinsey Sioux.

She was seemingly named after the woman who helped them get their marriage license.

Upon announcing her pregnancy in May 2019, Charton shared on Instagram that Kinsey was conceived after the 2019 Golden Globe Awards where Culkin lost, writing: "#theglobeswerefun".

When the actor was nominated and lost again the following year, his wife cheekily referenced Kinsey's conception with a photo of Culkin holding an imaginary trophy.

"My three-time Golden Globe loser," she wrote. "I got pregnant the last time he lost so I’m out of consolation prize ideas..."

Culkin eventually won a Golden Globe in 2024 for Best Actor in a Drama Series, for his role in Succession.

The actor took the opportunity to thank Charton for "putting up with this and all the... that comes with it." The camera immediately panned to his wife, who blew him a kiss from the audience.

The couple also have another child together, their son Wilder Wolf who was born on August 17, 2021. During an appearance on The Ellen Degeneres Show, Culkin explained it took him and his wife a long time to settle on a name for their secondborn.

"My wife wanted Wolf. She was fighting hard for Wolf," he said in 2021.

"We found [the name] in the hospital the day that he was born and we thought 'That's great.' But instead of pulling the trigger on it, [we thought], 'Let's torture ourselves for about seven weeks,' disagreeing with names before we come around to the name that we picked. 'Cause, we didn't know if we were having a boy or a girl."

He added that they waited until right before Charton gave birth to brainstorm names.

"So, she's in bed and we have a dry erase board so we can go over every name we thought of. And we were like 'Let's focus on girl names because we really like these,'" he recalled.

"We narrowed it down to two girl names that we really liked, and we agreed it was going to be one of those two names if it's a girl and if it's a boy we're screwed... And we had a boy and spent seven weeks arguing about names."

Interestingly enough, Charton and Culkin weren't always on board with having kids.

In 2018, the actor told iNews of his apprehension.

"It just seems like a lot to take on. I suppose if she gets pregnant, that would be fine but it's really not on our horizon," he said.

However, that's of course since changed.

In a recent project with Taika Waititi for Interview, the actor said, "I don’t like being away from them for more than two days at a time."
