Actress Maddie Corman’s husband was arrested for downloading and sharing child sex abuse images, and she decided to stay with him, for the sake of their three children.
It’s a decision that has raised many eyebrows, but Corman, 49, is sticking by her choice.
“I’m aware that decision does not sit well with some people. I don’t like having to defend my choice. I was proud to be married to who I’m married too, and I am still proud to be married to him, I am,” she told The Times.
Here is Maddie talking about her new play about her husband’s arrest, and how hard the decision to stay was to make.
Corman has turned her controversial experience into a one woman play called ‘Accidentally Brave’. She gets to relive the horror of that incident on stage, eight times a week.
Her life was turned upside down in 2015, when early one morning she received a frantic call from her 16-year-old daughter while at work.
“MOM! The police are here! Mom! They’re taking Dad’s computer. MOOMMMM!”

I don't think a person who has been convicted of watching child exploitation material is the right person to create a documentary about the damaging effects of porn. I don't doubt that pornography, especially in its more violent and exploitative forms, can have a negative effect on sexuality and development. However, I disagree that this man should be able to publicly scapegoat his own behaviour by blaming it on porn- plenty of people watch it and don't turn into paedos. Most experts in the fields of psychology have stated paedophilia and its causes are poorly understood. This is a sensitive and nuanced topic, and if the link between porn and paedophilia is to be explored at all it should be done by people who aren't already screwy enough to view children as sex objects or remain married to someone who does.
No mention whatsoever of the children he watched being abused. The woman is as vile as her husband. If you need to convince people that someone who has done a heinous thing is a good person, it might be time to check your morals.
